Series 14 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Ncuti Gatwa on Blu-ray #1

– – – BRAND NEW REVIEW – – –

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the first episode of Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. It’s time to check out ‘Space Babies’ by Russell T. Davies, which was shown via BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and via Disney+ in non-UK parts of the world on the 11th of May 2024. ‘Space Babies’ was the first in a double bill of ‘Doctor Who’ episodes shown on the 11th of May – the second one being ‘The Devil’s Chord’. I’ve had time to process and reflect on my thoughts on ‘Space Babies’ as well as the rest of Series 14. I’ve certainly more to say about this episode compared to when I did my spoiler free reaction video on both ‘Space Babies’ and ‘The Devil’s Chord’ back in May 2024. Continue reading

‘Beast Wars’ Review #41 – ‘Master Blaster’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’re getting close to the end of ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’, everyone! Let’s continue our look into this ‘Transformers’ series by checking out the episode ‘Master Blaster’ in Season 3 of ‘Beast Wars’. In the episode, the Predacons attempt to take control of Optimus Primal’s Optimal body in order to infiltrate the Autobots’ Ark again. Megatron is intent on stealing the spark of the original G1 Megatron, leader of the Decepitcons, so that his powers can be on par with Optimal Optimus’. Will the Maximals thwart Megatron’s attempts to be more powerful or will a couple of his Predacon troops betray him in the process? I first saw ‘Master Blaster’ as the last of three episodes on Volume 3 of the four official VHS releases of ‘Beast Wars’ containing Season 3 episodes that had never been shown before via GMTV in the UK. I’ve also seen ‘Master Blaster’ in the ‘Beast Wars’ 15th anniversary DVD box set, and it can now be seen on YouTube. Will this be an exciting instalment in ‘Beast Wars’ as we draw closer to the series’ conclusion? Continue reading

Series 14 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Ncuti Gatwa on Blu-ray #0

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

At long last! I’ve completed writing up my in-depth reviews on Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. These reviews are based on me checking out the stories in the Series 14 Blu-ray box set. As we speak, I’m in the process of uploading my reviews on each of the stories in Series 14 to my blog. I aim to share my reviews every week from April to June 2026. It’s taken me a while to write up my reviews on each story in Series 14, but I’m happy to be sharing them on my blog, which includes in-depth thoughts by me on what I think of the stories today compared to when I first viewed back from May to June 2024. ‘Beast Wars’ Review #40 – ‘Crossing the Rubicon’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on another updated review on a ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ episode! It’s time to check out the episode ‘Crossing the Rubicon’, a Season 3 episode about Blackarachnia. In the episode, Blackarachnia’s life is in danger when she attempts to use the Transmetal driver she acquired from Depth Charge in ‘Feral Scream’ to upgrade her body. Will the Maximals be able to save Blackarachnia’s life whilst the Predacons, led by Tarantulas, attack the Maximals’ base to disrupt the procedure? The first time I saw ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ was on Volume 3 of the four official VHS releases of ‘Beast Wars’ containing Season 3 episodes that had never been shown before via GMTV in the UK. I’ve also seen ‘Crossing the Rubicon’ in the ‘Beast Wars’ 15th anniversary DVD box set, and it can now be seen on YouTube. We’re getting close to the end of the ‘Beast Wars’ series, as there are three more stories after this one. Hopefully, I’ll be able to complete my updated reviews on ‘Beast Wars’ by the time we get to Early Bank Holiday Monday in the UK in May. Continue reading

‘Tales From The TARDIS’ Review – ‘The People’s Temple’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the seventh and final instalment of the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories. This year’s Easter review season has been shorter compared to last year, I know, but I’m happy to have completed my reviews on the stories featured in the two ‘Tales From The TARDIS’ audio anthologies, ever since I did my reviews on the ‘Short Trips’ and ‘More Short Trips’ book anthologies in ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season back from March to April 2024. Today, we’re checking out ‘The People’s Temple’ by Paul Leonard. The story features the Eighth Doctor and Sam, and it’s read by Paul McGann. As well as being the seventh and final story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection, ‘The People’s Temple’ is the third and final story in the ‘Earth and Beyond’ audio anthology, featuring the Eighth Doctor and Sam. It’s also the fifteenth and final story in the BBC ‘Short Trips’ 1998 book collection. Continue reading

‘Tales From The TARDIS’ Review – ‘Dead Time’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s Easter Tuesday today, and it’s time to check out the sixth story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories! Today, I’m sharing my review on the story ‘Dead Time’ by Andrew Miller, which happens to be a pseudonym for Stephen Cole. The story features the Eighth Doctor and Sam, and is read by Paul McGann. As well as being the sixth story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection, ‘Dead Time’ is the second story in the ‘Earth and Beyond’ audio anthology, featuring the Eighth Doctor and Sam. It’s also the eleventh story in the ‘More Short Trips’ book collection, which I reviewed in my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter from March to April 2024. My opinion on ‘Dead Time’ hasn’t changed much since the first time I read and heard the story back in 2024. Continue reading
