Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ (Novelization)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As part of the ‘Star Trek’ 60th anniversary celebrations, I’ve decided to check out the movie novelization of ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ by Gene Roddenberry, based on the screenplay by Harold Livingston and the story by Alan Dean Foster. I’m basing my review on the 40th anniversary edition of the movie novelization, which was released in 2019. It’s taken me seven years to check out the 40th anniversary edition, but I’m glad to be checking it out along with the unabridged audiobook read by Robert Petkoff for the TV show’s 60th anniversary.

I’ve added my review on the movie novelization of ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ to my review on the film on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my latest novelization/audiobook review by clicking on the link for it.

Enjoy!

Hopefully, there’ll come a point where I’ll be reviewing more ‘Star Trek’ movie novelizations, with the next one being ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan’. I’m currently revisiting ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ on DVD before I get to Season 3 of the TV series. It’s unlikely I’ll be sharing my thoughts on Season 3 before the end of 2026, as I’m likely to share them in early 2027. In the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy more items on my blog, whether it’s related to ‘Star Trek’ or not. Now that I’ve shared my review on ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ at long last, I can now make a start on preparing my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, which I’ll be sharing from December 2026 to January 2027. Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
