…AND IT’S THE 11TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I know, I used the fireworks GIF last year for my blog’s 10th anniversary. But hey, it’s still a good GIF to use to celebrate the fact that I’ve been doing this blog for about 11 years ever since I started back in September 2015. Amazing how time flies by, isn’t it? 😀
‘Bradley’s Basement’ continues to thrive on being a website dedicated to exploring pop culture, whether it’d be ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’, Spider-Man, or movies and TV shows in general. I’ve enjoyed doing 11 years of my blog! 🙂
I know this year hasn’t been intensely busy as I would’ve liked it to have been. What with delays to projects happening due to working full-time and having to do blog posts and reviews in the evenings on weekdays. 😐 Plus, changes to my personal life have happened.
I’m also not the same as I was back in 2015 when I was in my mid-20s and doing my blog enthusiastically when it began. But I still enjoy sharing my thoughts on many movies and TV shows I’ve seen. I hope to continue doing that whilst I’m still running my personal blog.
There are plenty of things to look forward to for the rest of 2026 as well as beyond. At this point, I’m currently two stories away from completing my in-depth reviews on Series 15 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Ncuti Gatwa, Varada Sethu and Millie Gibson.
The reviews on Series 15 have been slow-going compared to doing my reviews on Series 14 earlier this year. But that’s because I’ve seen Series 14 more times than Series 15 as well as having other things to occupy my time. I hope to get my Series 15 reviews finished.
I’m aiming to share my Series 15 reviews before the end of 2026. Whether that will happen or not is yet to be determined. If that doesn’t happen, then I’m likely to share my Series 15 reviews in the early months of 2027. 🙂 I know that’s a bit of a wait, but I will share them.
Once my Series 15 ‘Doctor Who’ reviews are completed and shared online, I’m aiming to update my reviews on classic ‘Doctor Who’ stories. This includes the animation for ‘The Savages’ as well as the stories in ‘The Collection’ Blu-ray box sets of classic ‘Doctor Who’.
There’s the Season 7, 13 and Season 21 Blu-ray box sets of classic ‘Doctor Who’ to check out. Hopefully, I’ll do these before doing new reviews on other Blu-ray box sets such as Series 1 of ‘Blake’s 7’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ BBC TV series, which I’ve enjoyed. 🙂
There are still some Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy ‘Doctor Who’ stories to share on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, including ‘Swing Time’. I know I’ve been behind with this, but I hope to share the rest of ‘Swing Time’ before the end of 2026. Stay tuned for a blog post on this coming soon.
Once I’ve shared ‘Swing Time’ on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, there are the stories ‘Terileptils’ Revenge’, which has the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy teaming up with Adric and Tegan, as well as ‘The Blood of Honos’ and the 12-part epic finale ‘Orionis’. Stay tuned for updates on this soon.
I’ve recently enjoyed going to the ‘Wigan Comic Con Summer 2026’ and seeing Sarah Sutton and Sophie Aldred as special guests. I’ve another convention to look forward to at the start of November, which happens to be ‘Christmas with the Doctor’, which sounds very festive.
I’m looking forward to seeing Sarah Sutton again along with Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Janet Fielding, Sophie Aldred and many more guests. I also hope to enjoy a live production of ‘A Christmas Carol’, which will be performed by Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred at the event.
I’m hoping to check out the ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off series ‘Class’ sometime. As it’s my blog’s 11th anniversary in 2026 and as it’s the 10th anniversary of ‘Class’ since it came out in 2016, I’ve put together a brand-new ‘Doctor Who’ timeline for the ‘Class’ series. 🙂
I’ve added my brand-new timeline for ‘Class’ to ‘The Allies’ Timelines Index’. This includes all the TV stories, books and audio dramas by Big Finish so far. It’s likely I’ll be sharing a quick review on the ‘Class’ TV series rather than in-depth reviews on the episodes.
I’m looking forward to doing my annual ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, which I’ll be sharing over the Christmas period. There are some exciting brand-new stories featuring Nyssa to look forward to, including stories that have recently been announced by Big Finish.
There’s the Short Trip story ‘Hard Feelings’ from ‘Impeccable and Other Stories’, ‘Lair of the Voltaxa’ and ‘March of the Colossus’ from ‘Shock and Awe’, ‘Overworked’ from ‘Halloween: Doctor Doctor Doctor and Other Stories’, and ‘Merry Christmas, Mr. Chimbly’ from ‘Christmas: Out of the Dark and Other Stories’. I’m hoping to make a start on preparing my reviews in the 2026-27 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season soon.
In terms of other Christmas-related items on my blog, I’m looking forward to sharing my annual ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar in December 2026. This will be based on a photo album I had for my birthday back in May. I’m hoping to prepare for that soon too.
In place of the cancelled ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special we were supposed to have in December 2026, I’m hoping to revisit the 2012 fan film ‘Power of the Daleks’ by Nick Scovell. I saw this fan film at the ‘Valiant 2015’ convention in March of that year. I’m looking to revisiting it and doing a quick review on it sometime during the Christmas season.
There are plenty of TV shows to look forward to and enjoy, which I hope to share my thoughts on in due course. This includes Season 3 of ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, ‘Spider-Noir’ and Seasons 4 to 6 of ‘Supergirl’.
I’m currently enjoying Season 4 of ‘Supergirl’ on ITVX having seen Seasons 1, 2 and 3. I’m hoping to share a quick review on Season 4 of ‘Supergirl’ sometime in October. It’s likely I’ll be sharing a quick review on Season 5 in November and a quick review on Season 6 in December.
In terms of movies, there’s plenty to look forward to. I’m hoping to see ‘Ebenezer’, the new live-action adaptation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ starring Johnny Depp. I also hope to see ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ as well as ‘Jumanji: Open World’ once they are out at the cinemas.
I’m checking out the ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ novelization by Gene Roddenbery along with the unabridged audiobook read by Robert Petkoff. I’m hoping to share my review on the novelization/audiobook soon. Once I’ve checked out ‘Star Trek: The Motion Picture’ novelization, I’ll be moving on to checking out the rest of the ‘Star Trek’ movie novelizations.
Going back to ‘Doctor Who’, it would be nice to see the extended movie cut of the two-part story ‘The Impossible Planet’/’The Satan Pit’ at the cinema on ‘Doctor Who’ Day (23rd November 2026). Whether that will happen or not is another matter, but it’s under review.
For now, I hope to keep you entertained with more posts and reviews coming to my blog very soon. I’m sure I’ll be doing something for ‘Doctor Who’s 63rd anniversary date. Whether that’s a couple more reviews on a Thirteenth Doctor and a Ninth Doctor audio adventure like I did last year for the TV show’s 62nd anniversary, I don’t know. I’m looking forward to finding out. I’m sure I’ll be celebrating ‘Doctor Who’ Day in style in November.
