Most of these audio stories I’ve reviewed already and there’s one I’ve yet to share. I hope you’ll enjoy what I’ll be sharing from this ‘Doctor Who’ audio collection this Easter! 🙂 Continue reading

Audio Reviews – ‘The Cloud Exiles & Other Stories’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to this year’s ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2025 to January 2026! 🙂 It’s a Christmas tradition that’s been going for the past 10 years (unless you reschedule a ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter 2024 instead of Christmas 2023, but that’s beside the point) where I share brand-new and updated reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring Nyssa of Traken, my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion, as played by Sarah Sutton in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. I’m looking forward to sharing with you some brand-new reviews on certain ‘Doctor Who’/Nyssa stories that have come out this year as well as share updated reviews on certain stories I’ve already covered but have revisited recently. Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who and the Planet of the Daleks’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve recently checked out the Target novelization/audiobook ‘Doctor Who and the Planet of the Daleks’ by Terrance Dicks, based on the ‘Doctor Who’ TV story by Terry Nation, which was shown from April to May 1973. This story features the Third Doctor and Jo teaming up with the Thals on the planet Spiridon, as they tackle the deadly Daleks. I’ve enjoyed the Target novelization via its 1992 edition with cover art by Alister Pearson. I read the book with the 2013 unabridged audiobook read by Mark Gatiss, who is well-known for writing ‘Doctor Who’ episodes in the new TV series and has played characters like Professor Lazarus in ‘The Lazarus Experiment’ and the Captain in ‘Twice Upon a Time’. Nicholas Briggs also provides the voice of the Daleks in the unabridged audiobook. Continue reading

In this instalment of my latest Easter review season on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, we’re checking out the seventh story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume One’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories. It’s time for ‘Freedom’ by Steve Lyons, featuring the Third Doctor, Jo, the Brigadier, Sergeant Benton, U.N.I.T. and the Master, as played by Roger Delgado. The story is read by Nicholas Courtney and Sophie Aldred. As well as the seventh story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume One’ collection, it’s the first story in the ‘Short Trips’ audio anthology produced by the BBC. It’s also the sixth story in the ‘Short Trips’ 1998 book collection by the BBC, which I reviewed in my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter from March to April 2024.
