After finishing my in-depth reviews on Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, it’s time for me to share my latest review on the exclusive BBC iPlayer series ‘Tales of the TARDIS’. This was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ back in November 2023. Let’s check out the fifth and penultimate story in Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘Underworld’ by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. In this adventure, Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson, come across a spaceship in deep space called the R1C, captained by James Maxwell as Jackson, who is joined by his followers Alan Lake as Herrick, Jonathan Newth as Orfe and Imogen Bickford-Smtih as Tala. Jackson and his team are on a quest to search for the race banks of their people – the Minyans of Minyos. “The Quest is the Quest!” Will our heroes uncover the secrets of the P7E spaceship that’s buried in a planet made of meteorites? Let’s check out the second story of Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Invisible Enemy’ by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. Yes! This is where K-9 makes his debut as a ‘Doctor Who’ companion in the classic TV series. Or rather where K-9 Mark I makes his debut. It’s been great to revisit ‘The Invisible Enemy’ on Blu-ray, especially through the CGI effects option. Here we are on the fourth story of Season 9 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for us to check out ‘The Mutants’, a six-part story by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. In this adventure, the TARDIS takes the Doctor and Jo to the planet Solo during the Earth Empire period of the 30th century. The Doctor has to deliver a spherical pod to someone that could provide the key to Solos’ future. The story features guest stars like Paul Whitsun-Jones as the villainous Marshal and Garrick Hagon as Ky, a Solonian who is against the Earth Empire’s (or ‘Overlords’ as the Solonians call them) presence on Solos. This is ‘The Invisible Enemy’, a four-part story by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. The story introduces us to K-9, a robot dog built by Frederick Jaeger as Professor Marius. K-9 is voiced by John Leeson. It’s Season 10 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. The 10th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’! 🙂 Today, we take a look at ‘The Three Doctors’, the first ‘Doctor Who’ story to feature more than one Doctor. As well as Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, we have the return of Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor and William Hartnell as the First Doctor. There’s also Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier and John Levene as Sergeant Benton.
