Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for the season finale of Season 2 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Time Meddler’. William Hartnell as the First Doctor and Maureen O’Brien as Vicki are joined by Peter Purves as Steven, as they visit the Northumbrian coast in the 11th century where Saxons and Vikings are. They also meet the Meddling Monk, who makes his debut in ‘Doctor Who’ and Peter Butterworth plays him. You can watch the four-part story either on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Chase’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for one of the most exciting ‘Doctor Who’ adventures ever made in the First Doctor era called ‘The Chase’. The Daleks return to chase the First Doctor TARDIS team throughout time and space! This story also features the last appearances of William Russell as Ian and Jacqueline Hill as Barbara. It also features the first appearance of Peter Purves as new companion Steven (although Peter plays Mortin Dill in the third episode and plays Steven in the sixth and final episode of this story). You can watch ‘The Chase’ either on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

Blu-ray review – ‘Galaxy 4’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are again with another animation to fill in the gaps of missing black-and-white ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the 1960s. It’s time to revisit ‘Galaxy 4’, which I originally reviewed back in 2017. This story comes from the First Doctor era and it features William Hartnell as the First Doctor, Maureen O’Brien as Vicki and Peter Purves as Steven. Continue reading

Convention Memories – ‘Dimensions 2013’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to share some more ‘convention memories’ today as I talk about the last ‘Doctor Who’ convention I attended in 2013 – the 50th anniversary year of the TV show. In October 2013, I attended ‘Dimensions 2013’, held at the Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle, run by 10th Planet Events. 🙂 Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Soon, I’ll be attending the ‘Bedford Who Charity Con’ in October, which I’m really looking forward to! 🙂 Before that happens though, I would like to share with you my memories of attending my favourite convention in the 50th anniversary year of ‘Doctor Who’ in 2013. It’s time to talk about ‘Regenerations 2013’ in Swansea! I have very happy memories of attending that special weekend. 😀 Continue reading

Quick DVD Review – ‘The Doctors: The William Hartnell Years’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As I’m currently not going to conventions because of the coronavirus pandemic and with the UK being in lockdown – please keep safe – I’m grateful to my parents that I had four ‘Myth Makers’ DVD compilations of ‘Doctor Who’ interviews for my birthday back in May. They’re a close thing to be at a convention. They may have been done in the 1980s and the 1990s, but they’re enjoyable to watch. Continue reading

CD Review – ‘The Dalek Occupation of Winter’ (Doctor Who)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve heard and reviewed ‘The Dalek Occupation of Winter’, starring Maureen O’Brien and Peter Purves. This ‘Doctor Who’ audio adventure features the First Doctor, Vicki and Steven against the Daleks. Robert Daws is the story’s special guest star and Nicholas Briggs does the voices for the Daleks in this adventure. This is a pretty good Dalek adventure by David K. Barnes. Continue reading

Novelization/Audiobook Review – ‘Doctor Who – The Chase’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As many of us are still coping with the situation of the coronavirus – please keep safe – here’s my review on the Target novelization/audiobook of ‘The Chase’ by John Peel. ‘The Chase’ is one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the William Hartnell era. I’m pleased I’ve read/heard the story in novelization/audiobook form at last. Continue reading
