Wishing you all a very good Easter Sunday today! I’ve shared this quite recently, but what the heck? No harm in sharing it again! 😀 It’s time to check out the fourth story in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection of ‘Doctor Who’ audio stories! It’s time for the 1997 abridged audiobook of the 1996 BBC Books edition of the ‘Doctor Who’ TV movie novelization – also known as ‘The Novel of the Film’. ‘The TV Movie’ novelization is by Gary Russell and is read by Paul McGann. My review on the 1997 abridged audiobook has been added to my page on ‘The TV Movie’, which also contains a review on ‘The TV Movie’ itself, a review on the ‘Tomorrow’s Times – The Eighth Doctor’ item presented by Nicholas Courtney, and a review on the 2021 Target novelization and its 2021 unabridged audiobook read by Dan Starkey. What good timing this is! 😀 As it’s the 30th anniversary of the ‘Doctor Who’ TV movie, I’ve checked out and reviewed the 1997 abridged audiobook of the 1996 BBC Books edition of ‘The TV Movie’ novelization – also known as ‘The Novel of the Film’ – by Gary Russell. It’s read by Paul McGann, who played the Eighth Doctor in ‘The TV Movie’ and currently plays him in the Big Finish audios. The audiobook is included in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS: Volume Two’ collection via Audible. The story features the Eighth Doctor, Grace, the Seventh Doctor and the Master. Continue reading →

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to check out the Paul McGann/Eighth Doctor era, which is technically the shortest-lived ‘Doctor Who’ era ever on TV. Thankfully, Paul McGann’s Eighth Doctor has had a long life in the Big Finish audios. 😀 Let’s check out ‘The TV Movie’, which was shown on UK and USA TV in May 1996. The ‘Doctor Who’ TV Movie is by Matthew Jacobs and was directed by Geoffrey Sax. As well as Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor, there’s Daphne Ashbrook as Grace Holloway, Yee Jee Tso as Chang Lee and Eric Roberts as the Master. This story also features the regeneration between Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor into Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor. ‘The TV Movie’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.
