And welcome to Season 7 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 It’s the first season of the 1970s, the first season to be shown in colour on TV, and it’s the first season to feature Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor. We start off Season 7 by taking a look at the four-part adventure ‘Spearhead From Space’. This story also features the return of Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and U.N.I.T. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 6 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Patrick Troughton’s third and final season as the Second Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ – Season 6 – is arguably a bold season in the classic TV series. Some of my favourite stories are included in this season, including ‘The Mind Robber’, ‘The Invasion’ and ‘The War Games’. Those three are epic stories. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Get your remotes ready! It’s MJTV time! 😀

Welcome back to MJTV time, and we continue with ‘Soldiers of Love’, as Critical Penguin continues his mission to share the 14-part audio series on YouTube with me helping him out. I’m currently sending the ‘SOL’ episodes to CP one by one, containing photos and audio tracks from the CDs I own, in order for him to put together videos of each ‘SOL’ episode to share on YouTube. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Get your remotes ready! It’s MJTV time! 😀

Yes! It’s MJTV time again! 😀 Back in 2018, I did an Easter review season on the audio series ‘Soldiers of Love’, produced by MJTV (Mark James Thompson Visuals). Sadly, the MJTV website doesn’t exist anymore, and there isn’t a way to purchase the 14-part audio series online, both physically and digitally. 😦 Thankfully, Critical Penguin has come to the rescue! 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Invasion’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here’s another one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Patrick Troughton era! 🙂 This is ‘The Invasion’, an epic eight-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Wendy Padbury as Zoe face the Cybermen again. They also confront Kevin Stoney as the villainous Tobias Vaughn and they’re joined by Nicholas Courtney, who is promoted as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and is the leader of U.N.I.T., a new taskforce tackling alien invasions of Earth. Two missing episodes of ‘The Invasion’ have been animated for DVD. ‘The Invasion’ is currently available to check out on DVD and on Britbox. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – Season 5 Summary

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 5 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series is what you might regard as ‘the monster season’, featuring Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. It would have been really good if Debbie Watling had been in all seven stories of Season 5. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Web of Fear’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s check out ‘The Web of Fear’, a six-part ‘Doctor Who’ story that features the second appearance of the Yeti in the TV series. Like ‘The Enemy of the World’, this was another ‘Doctor Who’ classic adventure that was considered lost from the BBC Archives before it was found and recovered in October 2013. Now the story can be enjoyed on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. It also features the return of Jack Watling as Professor Travers and it introduces Nicholas Courtney as Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart. Continue reading

‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ Reviews

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, so why not? 😀 To commemorate the day that I first met Sarah Sutton at the ‘Fifth Element’ event back in February 2010, I’ve decided to review ‘The Doctor Who Cookbook’ by Gary Downie, which was originally published back in 1985. This has been a treat of a ‘Doctor Who’ book to review. 🙂 Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is a big one! It’s time to check out the epic 12-part ‘Doctor Who’ story called ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’, starring William Hartnell as the First Doctor and Peter Purves as Steven. You can listen to ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’ soundtrack on audio CD or Audible, and you can watch the second, fifth and tenth surviving episodes of the story in the ‘Lost In Time’ DVD collection. The story also introduces us to Nicholas Courtney (before he became the Brigadier) as Bret Vyon, and Kevin Stoney (before he became Tobias Vaughn in ‘The Invasion’) as the villainous Mavic Chen. Adrienne Hill also appears as Katarina, following her debut in ‘The Myth Makers’. It also features the introduction of Jean Marsh as Sara Kindgom. The seventh episode is a Christmas episode, would you believe? 😀 And the eighth to tenth episodes also feature the return of Peter Butterworth as the Meddling Monk. Continue reading
