Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In case you missed it yesterday, I’ve updated my review on ‘Arc of Infinity’, one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era. In doing so, I’ve done a review on the making-of documentary ‘Anti-Matter from Amsterdam’, presented by Sophie Aldred, produced and directed by Keith Barnfather, and featuring behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew, including Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton, Ian Collier, Alistair Cumming, Colin Baker, Paul Jerricho, script editor Eric Saward and writer Johnny Byrne. I’ve been looking forward to sharing my updated reviews on Season 20 for quite some time since the Blu-ray box set came out in September 2023. The season stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Mark Strickson as Turlough. Let’s start off our look into the seven stories of Season 20 by checking out ‘Arc of Infinity’, a four-parter by Johnny Byrne, starring Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding. Just for you to be aware, I’ve added a brand-new review on the 1995 abridged audiobook of the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who – Attack of the Cybermen’ by Eric Saward, read by Colin Baker, who plays the Sixth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. The audiobook is included in the ‘Tales From The TARDIS, Volume One’ collection via Audible. The story features the Sixth Doctor and Peri Brown as well as the Cybermen. Continue reading

To commemorate my first meeting with Sarah Sutton (Nyssa of Traken in ‘Doctor Who’) at the ‘Fifth Element’ convention in February 2010, I’d like to share a YouTube video I discovered on fifthdoctor‘s channel on the ‘Arc of Infinity’ DVD audio commentary. 🙂 Continue reading

Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the sixth and final story of Season 15 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for an updated review on the six-part season finale ‘The Invasion of Time’ by David Agnew. The review was done by me and Timelord007 back in 2017. Today, we’re sharing our updated thoughts on the story, which sees Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor returning to Gallifrey, along with Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. The guest cast includes John Arnatt as Chancellor Borusa, Milton Johns as Castellan Kelner, Chris Tranchell as Andred and Hilray Ryan as Rodan. The story also features the mysterious Vardans, and the war-like Sontarans, led by Derek Deadman as Commander Stor. This story also features the departure of Leela and K-9 Mark I. Continue reading

Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #4

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the fourth story in Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, based on its ‘Collection’ Blu-ray box set. It’s time for ‘The Sun Makers’ by Robert Holmes, directed by the late Pennant Roberts. This is a ‘Doctor Who’ story where the planet Pluto is being taxed to death. There’s Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela, and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. It’s good to see K-9 appear properly in this ‘Doctor Who’ story, following his absence in ‘Image of the Fendahl’. There’s a good guest cast in this adventure, including the likes of Henry Woolf, Richard Leech, Jonina Scott, Roy Macready, David Rowlands, William Simons, Adrienne Burgess and Michael Keating. Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #3

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to check out the third story of Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, based on its ‘Collection’ Blu-ray box set, called ‘Image of the Fendahl’ by Chris Boucher, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. K-9 is in this story, but unfortunately, he’s only in the first and last episodes of this four-part adventure. Plus, John Leeson doesn’t voice him. It’s sad, but thankfully, K-9 makes a proper appearance in the story after this one. In the meantime, today, I’m sharing my latest and updated thoughts on ‘Image of the Fendahl’, a story about an ancient human skull and the coming of a deadly enemy in the Fendahl with gothic proportions. Continue reading

Season 15 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s check out the second story of Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Invisible Enemy’ by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and K-9, voiced by John Leeson. Yes! This is where K-9 makes his debut as a ‘Doctor Who’ companion in the classic TV series. Or rather where K-9 Mark I makes his debut. It’s been great to revisit ‘The Invisible Enemy’ on Blu-ray, especially through the CGI effects option. The story is directed by Derrick Goodwin, who makes his only contribution to the classic TV series. Continue reading
