‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Hungry Earth’/’Cold Blood’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve found out that the two-part ‘Doctor Who’ story we’re revisiting today – ‘The Hungry Earth’/’Cold Blood’ by Chris Chibnall – takes place in the year 2020. Keep in mind that the two-part story was shown on BBC TV in May 2010. I’d like to assume that the story takes place in early 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic ever happened. Or it could be that the story takes place in an alternative universe where Covid-19 never happened. 😀 Anyway, let’s check out this two-part story starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, Karen Gillan as Amy Pond and Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams, as they visit South Wales in 2020 and we have the return of the Silurians with a redesigned look compared to the classic TV series versions of them. The main Silurians featured in this story include Neve McIntosh as Alaya and Restac, Richard Hope as Malohkeh and Stephen Moore as Eldane. ‘The Hungry Earrth’/’Cold Blood’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on Peter Davison’s third and final season as the Fifth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’ – Season 21. The season ends with a peculiar entry, but we’ll get to that eventually. We begin Season 21 with ‘Warriors of the Deep’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne, featuring the return of the Silurians and the Sea Devils. This story also introduces the Myrka. Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor is joined by Janet Fielding as Tegan and Mark Strickson as Turlough. Does this story start the season off on a good note? 😐 ‘Warriors of the Deep’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This is the season finale of Series 6 in ‘Doctor Who’. It’s a story that should’ve been a two-parter with everything crammed in at the end. It features the return of River Song as well as the Silence. Can the Doctor stop time collapsing with the world now seemingly jumbled up with many time zones? Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ Marathon – ‘A Good Man Goes to War’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’ve come now to the end of the first half of Series 6. There was a break in-between Part 1 and Part 2 of Series 6. ‘A Good Man Goes to War’ is the mid-season finale and it features the true identity of River Song. Dare I say it, I wasn’t particularly happy with how River Song was revealed in the episode. Continue reading
