‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Mission to the Unknown’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to take a look at the only ‘Doctor Who’ episode from the classic TV series to not feature William Hartnell as the First Doctor, even though he is credited in the cast list. This is ‘Mission to the Unknown’, which serves as a prelude to the 12-part epic story ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’. There are two versions of this story. There’s the original, which can be heard on its TV soundtrack on an audio CD or via Audible, and there’s a new version of the story produced by the students of the University of Central Lancashire, which can be viewed on the ‘Doctor Who’ YouTube channel. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Chase’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for one of the most exciting ‘Doctor Who’ adventures ever made in the First Doctor era called ‘The Chase’. The Daleks return to chase the First Doctor TARDIS team throughout time and space! This story also features the last appearances of William Russell as Ian and Jacqueline Hill as Barbara. It also features the first appearance of Peter Purves as new companion Steven (although Peter plays Mortin Dill in the third episode and plays Steven in the sixth and final episode of this story). You can watch ‘The Chase’ either on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s been a while since I did one of these ‘cinema experiences’ blog posts, isn’t it? The last one was on ‘Elf’ back in December 2019. Whoa! 😀 Last Sunday, I checked out the two ‘Doctor Who’ movies ‘Dr. Who and the Daleks’ and ‘Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.’, starring Peter Cushing, at the cinema. Continue reading

Quick DVD Review – ‘Fireball XL5’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’m currently watching ‘Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons’ on DVD, which I had for Christmas last year. Whilst I’m watching that, let me share with you my thoughts on another Gerry Anderson TV series I’ve finished checking out. I’ve seen the series ‘Fireball XL5’ on DVD and I’ve greatly enjoyed it! Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We continue checking out Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Tom Baker by taking a look at the second story in the season called ‘City of Death’. This is my second favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire series (the first of course being ‘Black Orchid’). The story has Paris in 1979; Julian Glover as the villain; a cameo of John Cleese and Eleanor Bron; and an enjoyable comedy-drama plot by Douglas Adams, based on the ideas by David Fisher. Quick TV Series Review – ‘Stingray’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

As I’ve been revisiting ‘Thunderbirds’ recently with its TV show, its movies and its latest audio adaptation of a novel by Big Finish/Anderson Entertainment, my parents and I checked out another ‘Supermarionation’ series by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson called ‘Stingray’. It was great to check out! 🙂 Continue reading
