‘FOUNTAIN OF TERROR’

Please feel free to comment on my review.

This ‘Spider-Man’ story features the return of Dr. Curt Connor (No, not Connors. Connor!) I wish I could say that the 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ TV series was faithful to the comics. But it’s astounding how they take liberties with introducing their own villains and changing the names of established villains.

Dr. Connor doesn’t even become the Lizard again, which you would expect him to do. He just gets captured when he’s in Florida. How come Dr. Connor and his wife and son didn’t move out of Florida after the Lizard incident in ‘Where Crawls the Lizard’? Spidey also faces the return of a previous foe.

That happens to be Harley Clivendon, who was the mastermind Australian hunter in ‘The One-Eyed Idol’. Thankfully he doesn’t have a racially insensitive black thief assistant to help him, thank goodness. 😀 Dr. Connor gets held prisoner in a Spanish Fort since he’s found the Fountain of Youth.

Clivendon does have a medieval-like Conquistador helping him this time round. Or was the Conquistador not working with Clivendon in this? I don’t know. Anyway, Spidey, with the help of Dr. Connor’s son Billy, thwarts Harley Clivendon. He uses a cannonball to destroy the fountain of youth.

‘Fountain of Terror’ rating – 6/10
