‘FIDDLER ON THE LOOSE’

Please feel free to comment on my review.

In this ‘Spider-Man’ tale called ‘Fiddler on the Loose’ (No, that’s not a joke. That’s what this story is called), the mysterious Fiddler attacks Flintridge’s music band by firing sonic waves, using a violin. He also fires sonic waves at Spider-Man and he tries to exact a ransom and stop pop music ever playing.

How is it that the stories featured in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ movies and the ‘MCU Spider-Man’ movies seem more dignified than the stories in this 1960s TV series? The motives of villains like the Fiddler are pettier than the ones in less good ‘Spidey’ films, especially in wanting to stop pop music!

And it’s no surprise that the Fiddler didn’t come back for another ‘Spider-Man’ story. We don’t even get to know much about the rivalry between Cyrus Flintridge III and the Fiddler; apart from the fact the Fiddler doesn’t like Flintridge’s pop music. How can the Fiddler fire sonic waves with his violin? 😐

J. Jonah Jameson also sees Flintridge’s music band playing and doesn’t care for their music either. At least it gave Jameson a chance to get out of that stuffy Daily Bugle office. The story ends with Jameson being given a symphony of a gift which happens to be pop music and he gets annoyed by it.

‘Fiddler on the Loose’ rating – 4/10
