‘TO CATCH A SPIDER’

Please feel free to comment on my review.

This story features a better team-up of villains compared to the actual ‘Night of the Villains’ story in the 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ TV series. ‘To Catch a Spider’ features Electro, the Green Goblin and the Vulture. They are led by Dr. Noah Boddy from ‘Spider-Man Meets Dr. Noah Boddy’ to defeat Spidey.

I must admit, it was amusing when the three villains – Electro, Green Goblin and Vulture – are all in shot and they put on big grins on their faces at the thought of thwarting Spider-Man. It was equally amusing when it worked the other way around as their big grins dropped into sadder, deflated faces.

Anyway, Dr. Noah Boddy frees Electro, Green Goblin and Vulture to get back at Spider-Man. The three villains disable Spider-Man’s powers and they arrange to meet him at midnight at the docks. Thankfully, through ventriloquism, Spidey gets to defeat his villains by making them fight each other.

I like how Spidey points out that Dr. Noah Boddy would be difficult to tackle since he’s invisible all the time. Though I think him using a gun that’s clearly visible can give the game away. I’m also not sure why Green Goblin can’t lead the fight since surely he must be intelligent as well as insane here.

‘To Catch a Spider’ rating – 7/10
