‘WHERE CRAWLS THE LIZARD’

Please feel free to comment on my review.

Once again, we have another compilation of two ‘Spider-Man’ stories into one episode. The first story is ‘Where Crawls The Lizard’ and the second one is ‘Electro the Human Lightning Bolt’. I must admit, I do find the titles for these ‘Spider-Man’ stories to be very corny as much as the stories are. 🙂

In this story, Peter Parker flies to New York in order to photograph the Lizard Man (yeah, he’s not called the Lizard, it’s Lizard Man). Spidey also goes to find Dr. Curtis Connor (not Connors as many ‘Spidey’ fans know him). And the Lizard was created because Connor wanted to cure…swamp fever.

Hmm. That’s different from what I know about the Lizard since he lost one of his arms and he wanted to grow it again using lizard DNA. I don’t even think Dr. Connor has lost an arm in this story. But at least Dr. Connor’s family – his wife Margaret and his son Billy appear in this ‘Spider-Man’ tale.

And the Lizard acts like he wants to be king of the swamps before taking over the world. I get the impression the Spider-Man villains in the 1960s TV series aren’t fleshed out enough and they seem 2-dimensional. 😀 J. Jonah Jameson and Betty Brant of the Daily Bugle also appear in this certain tale.

‘Where Crawls the Lizard’ rating – 7/10
