‘TO CAGE A SPIDER’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

At last! It’s the final episode of Season 2 of the 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ TV show. There’s only one season left. I know I sound like I’m wishing for this series to be over, but for the most part, I’ve found the 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ show unexciting. At least Season 1 had more interesting episodes than Season 2.
In the episode, Spider-Man gets knocked out by a group of thugs in a car he’s trying to chase. Just to say, we never know what happens to the group of thugs afterwards. There’s not even a scene where Spidey catches them at the end. I assume those thugs managed to get away with the stuff they stole.
Anyway, after Spidey’s been out for the count, he’s taken the prison infirmary. Thankfully, the police hold the crowds back when they demand for Spidey to be unmasked. I’m surprised Jameson’s not in the episode to make that demand. It would’ve been interesting to see since this is the season finale.
The New York police are led by Captain Ned Stacy. Odd that. I thought in the comics and in the movies, he was George Stacy. Ah well, I can safely assume he’s the father of Gwen Stacy – which we don’t get to see here. Hmm! I wonder if Gwen Stacy will appear in Season 3 of this ‘Spidey’ TV show.
It’s interesting how Captain Stacy prevents Spider-Man being unmasked when crowds are demanding for it to happen once he gets taken away to a prison infirmary to recover. Very soon, a group of inmates stage a prison breakout. They have Captain Stacy as a hostage and Spidey helps. 😮
Before we get to that, I want to know where that group of inmates came from once they came up behind Captain Stacy to take him hostage. We didn’t have a scene where we saw the inmates break out. In fact, we don’t get introduced to them and know their names whilst the episode progresses. 😐
But yeah, Spidey tries to convince the inmates that he’s helping them to escape, playing out the criminal he’s been made to believe. In actuality though, Spidey is preventing the inmates getting away with it. He web-captures the criminals one-by-one in order to rescue Captain Stacy at the end!
Captain Stacy is grateful to Spidey for saving him, though he suggests that Spider-Man remains in prison in order for his trial to be sorted out. But Spidey refuses and soon leaves. Overall, ‘To Cage a Spider’ is not a very good finale to an underwhelming ‘Spider-Man’ season. But I guess it’s harmless.
‘To Cage a Spider’ rating – 6/10
