‘THE POWER OF DR. OCTOPUS’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

The first time I saw this ‘Spider-Man’ story was on the ‘Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock’ DVD, in time for ‘Spider-Man 2’. I hadn’t seen many original 1960s ‘Spider-Man’ episodes by that point. I only knew of it from hearing the ‘Spider-Man’ TV theme song at the end of the first ‘Spider-Man’ film’s credits.
In this story, photographer Peter Parker gets sent by the Daily Bugle to investigate a series of ‘mystery lights’ in a wooded area outside New York. He soon ends up in a secret laboratory operated by Doctor Octopus, who captures him and reveals his plans to blow up part of New York City itself. 😮
The dialogue featured in this ‘Spidey’ story is pretty cringeworthy, considering the time it was made. Doc Ock’s declaration of “It will give me power to rule the universe!” comes to mind. 😀 The animation is pretty good for its time, although the action sequences aren’t as dynamic as nowadays.
The other characters featured in this story are J. Jonah Jameson himself and Betty Brant, who seems to have red hair in the series. I assume Betty Brant in Spider-Man’s love interest in the episode. Betty even tells Peter off once he turns up after Spider-Man has managed to defeat Doc Ock by the end. 😀
‘The Power of Dr. Octopus’ rating – 7/10

I grew up on this series, so for me it holds such wonderful memories.
