‘THE BIRTH OF MICRO MAN’
Please feel free to comment on my review.

We’re introduced to another green-skinned villain in this story called Professor Pretoris. The green-skinned villains aspect of this ‘Spidey’ series have become ridiculous by this point. This is especially when Peter Parker doesn’t question Pretoris why he’s green-skinned when giving him a lift in his car.
I know this is a cartoon show and I shouldn’t judge it harshly, but I’ve always tried to ground ‘Spider-Man’ in terms of reality. And sadly, the 1960s TV series doesn’t do that when classifying their villains as green-skinned. Surely kids would register Pretoris as being the villain without the green skin here.
Anyway Pretoris is a diabolical scientist who becomes Micro Man by creating a light bulb that can shrink you down to size like a mouse or an ant. I’m disappointed Pretoris doesn’t dress up in a villainous costume as Micro Man. And surely Pretoris is stealing what Hank Pym made to become Ant-Man! 😀
Very soon, Pretoris plans to destroy New York with a nuclear weapon before he’s easily defeated by Spider-Man and is caught again by the police. The story features a number of hound dogs set to chase after Pretoris. There’s also an orange cat that gets gigantic for Spidey when he’s shrunk to size.
‘The Birth of Micro Man’ rating – 4/10
