‘The Two Salvadors’ (Z) – Introduction

Welcome to ‘The Two Salvadors’ of the ‘Zorbius’ series by Tim Bradley!

And here we come to the end of the ‘Zorbius’ series! I’m sure I’ll be writing ‘Zorbius’ stories for the Fourteenth and the Fifteenth Doctors sometime in the future, but for now this is where we come to a stop. I’ve enjoyed uploading my ‘Zorbius’ stories to my blog as well as writing three new ones.

For the final story, we join the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz to the Rotenhend Hotel 360, which was featured in ‘The Space Hotel’ and ‘The Zondor Robbers’. The Doctor reunites with Tari and Harry from ‘The Horror of Time’ and Cigihana and Emsterdon from ‘The Saviour of the Daleks’. 🙂

I love the Thirteenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’. I know it has a tendency to divide fan opinion, but I’ve enjoyed watching the stories featuring Jodie Whittaker’s Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz both on TV and BBC iPlayer. I’ve even written the story ‘Hank Prank’ featuring the Thirteenth Doctor TARDIS team.

I struggled coming up with ideas on what ‘Zorbius’ stories I would like to do with the Twelfth and Thirteenth Doctors. It was when I wrote the War Doctor story ‘The Nightmare of the Warrior’ that I came up with the idea of dividing Salvador into two people for Twelve and Thirteen to tackle against.

‘The Two Salvadors’ is where it ends for the Salvador saga in the ‘Zorbius’ series. It started in ‘The Matter of Reality’ before going into ‘The Nightmare of the Warrior’, into ‘The Saviour of the Daleks’, to where we are now. I’m certain a lot of plot threads have been left unresolved by this story’s end.

In fact, I’ve set up what will happen to the two Salvadors in terms of their fates. Whether they’ll be followed up in future ‘Zorbius’ stories or a story outside the ‘Zorbius’ series, I don’t know. It’s something to look forward to and I can always re-read the ‘Zorbius’ series to gain new inspiration. 🙂

For me, the joy of writing ‘The Two Salvadors’ is writing the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham, Ryan and Yaz. I could easily hear the characters’ voices in my head and they’re so easily likeable. I enjoyed writing their dialogue and how they interacted with the other characters featured in this ‘Zorbius’ story. 🙂

I hope you’ll enjoy ‘The Two Salvadors’ as well as the end of the ‘Zorbius’ series. When I wrote this series, it was at the time the 50th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ was happening. There were 11 stories then. Now I’ve added 3 more and I’m sure there’ll be more to add by the show’s 60th anniversary. 😀
