‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ – Who’s Who

Here are some of the characters who feature in the ‘Beast Wars’ TV series.

THE MAXIMALS

OPTIMUS PRIMAL

Optimus Primal is the leader of the heroic Maximals, the descendants of the Autobots. He can transform from a gorilla into a robot and vice versa. Optimus is a noble and sometimes reluctant leader who leads his Maximals to stop Megatron and his Predacons in their hungry quest for power. He also has the ability to fly airborne whilst in robot mode.

CHEETOR

Cheetor is the youngest Maximal in the team who can transform from a cheetah into a robot and vice versa. Cheetor is my favourite Maximal character in the ‘Beast Wars’ TV series. He’s feisty, fast and sometimes foolish just like I was. But he’s a very loyal Maximal whom Optimus is very fond of. 🙂 Cheetor often nicknames Optimus ‘big bot’ in the series.

RHINOX

Rhinox is the clever and often wise mechanic and engineer of the Maximal team. He can transform from a rhinoceros into a robot and vice versa. Rhinox may be slow and lumbering as a Maximal, but he’s one of the fiercely loyal and dependable of the Maximal team. Optimus puts his trust in Rhinox, especially when he’s his second-in-command. 🙂

DINOBOT

Dinobot is a former Predacon who joins the Maximals. He can transform from a dinosaur raptor into a robot and vice versa. Dinobot is a warrior and he values duty and honour as a Predacon. He tolerates his Maximal comrades, including Rattrap, who he often bickers with. Dinobot can be very mean at times, but he does have a good ‘spark’ inside of him. 🙂

RATTRAP

Rattrap can transform from a rat into a robot and vice versa. Rattrap is another one of my favourite Maximal characters in ‘Beast Wars’. He can be pretty cynical and arrogant at times, but he’s definitely someone that you would want to have on your side. Rattrap can be really funny at times. As a Maximal, he happens to be a demolition expert and a spy. 🙂

THE PREDACONS

MEGATRON

Megatron is the leader of the evil Predacons. He can transform from a purple tyrannosaurus rex into a robot and vice versa. Megatron is a ruthless tyrant. Initially, he led his Predacons to prehistoric Earth in search for Energon. But it turns out that Megatron may have his own hidden agenda, since he stole the Golden Disk from the planet Cybertron.

TERRORSAUR

Terrorsaur is one of the Predacon flyers in the ‘Beast Wars’ series. He can transform from a red pterodactyl into a robot and vice versa. Terrorsaur is a deadly enemy to reckon with, and he can be pretty ambitious when wanting to be leader of the Predacons. But Megatron puts Terrorsaur in his place whenever he takes a chance to rebel against him. 😐

WASPINATOR

Waspinator is the second Predacon flyer in the ‘Beast Wars’ series. He can transform from a giant wasp into a robot and vice versa. I love Waspinator as a character, since he’s so funny whenever I see him. Waspinator speaks in the third person. He can be silly and stupid at times, especially when he gets blown up a lot during battles. 😀 Poor Waspinator!

TARANTULAS

Tarantulas is the slimy Predacon scientist who can transform from a huge purple tarantula into a robot and vice versa. Tarantulas is a very mysterious character in ‘Beast Wars’. He seems to be on Megatron’s team, but has an agenda of his own. Tarantulas can create deadly webs, which can drain the energy and power of a Maximal like poor Cheetor.

SCORPONOK

Scorponok is Megatron’s second-in-command of the Predacons. He can transform from a deadly scorpion into a robot and vice versa. Scorponok is a fearsome bully and a thug, who is fiercely loyal to Megatron. He can be smart at times and can fire red missiles and deadly cyber bees from his scorpion pincers. He can also be very dim-witted at times. 😀
