‘The Two Salvadors’ (Z), Prologue

Prologue

Zondor space! By Earth time, it was the second half of the 38th century. No-one would’ve expected a planet to move of its own accord in Zondor space. But one planet did. And it wasn’t piloted by Daleks. It was a green and blue planet, almost similar to Earth. It traversed past the stars, making its way towards a hotel – a space hotel. It became bigger as the planet got closer. The hotel was the Rotenhend Hotel 360.

On the planet was its ruler – King Salvador, a dark-clad man who wore a crown on his head. He sat on a throne inside his castle. He looked down upon his subjects. There were two sets – men and women. The men were duplicates of each other as well as the women. The men were tall and bearded and could’ve easily become the planet’s ruler if they wanted to and if Salvador wasn’t their king. The women were young red-haired girls. They looked up at King Salvador who was about to share his plans.

“You have become my greatest army in the galaxy!” he addressed the men and women. “I am very proud of you all!”

The identical men and women cheered at King Salvador, responding positively. “Hail the king! Hail the king! Hail the king! Hail…”

King Salvador silenced them all. They became silent.

“We’re about to reach our target,” he said, as he showed them the Rotenhend Hotel 360 on a large viewscreen nearby. “We will soon attack the hotel once we’re in close proximity. We must seize our chance to obtain the Zorbius crystal at every opportunity! It is vital that we obtain it! In order to end the enslavement that we all endure! To ensure that we have control of this galaxy! To ensure that nobody…nobody defies the rule of Salvador! This planet and its king will be victorious!”

The identical men and women cheered again. “Hail the king! Hail the king! Hail the king! Hail…”

King Salvador silenced them all again. They became silent once more.

“You have your tasks,” he said. “Go to them! I must contact he who is already on the hotel. We are to receive no resistance in our visit to the hotel. We must succeed! Dismissed!”

With that, the identical men and women bowed before King Salvador as they soon went about their tasks. Once they had gone, King Salvador closed his eyes and focused his mind, trying to make contact with he who was already aboard the space hotel.

On the space hotel, in one of the hotel rooms, another Salvador received contact from King Salvador on the planet. The other Salvador closed his eyes as they mentally linked with each other.

“Receiving you loud and clear, your majesty,” the other Salvador said telepathically.

“You have the Skeletrons?” checked King Salvador.

“Yes,” the other Salvador answered. “They are with me in my hotel room.”

The other Salvador opened his eyes and looked to the Skeletrons in the room with him. Taking a mental picture for King Salvador to see, like a camera taking a photograph, the other Salvador saw the Skeletrons as a gangly and vicious-looking bunch. They had skeletal-like teeth out through their jaws and their robotic limbs rattled slightly. Electronic sparks and buzzes occurred momentarily at times. This was due to the rainclouds above the Skeletrons’ heads. It also explained why the other Salvador’s hotel room was starting to flood.

After taking the mental picture, the other Salvador closed his eyes for King Salvador to see it in his mind. It took a while for King Salvador to respond.

“Well?” the other Salvador prompted impatiently.

“Yes,” King Salvador considered. “I see them in your mind. You have collected twenty of them.”

The other Salvador was put out. “You disapprove?”

“I expected you to muster an army by the time my planet reached the hotel.”

“The Skeletrons are rare in this universe,” Other Salvador explained. “They are hard to find, especially considering the previous incident that involved the Skeletrons with Zorbius together.”

“No matter,” the king said. “The army I have with me will be enough.” He paused for a moment. “The other pieces are in place, I presume.”

“Yes, your majesty,” the other Salvador answered. “The hotel manager and his wife still have the crystal. The Tendrasta queen and her wife are aboard this hotel too. Their android detected the Zorbius crystal earlier, confirming our suspicions.”

“Excellent,” King Salvador said pleased. “We shall take the Zorbius crystal from the hotel manager and his wife. They have no right to keep it.”

“Indeed not,” the other Salvador agreed. “They should be ashamed of themselves.”

“All will be restored to us,” King Salvador declared. “We will have the Zorbius crystal and everything will be ours! We will be free of this pain! No-one will tell us what to do ever again!”

“She will come,” the other Salvador said as he reminded the king. “We have dipped into the future. She and her friends will come.”

“Of course,” King Salvador said knowingly. “We shall prevent her and her friends from stopping us. We shall have our revenge! We shall have our vengeance! We shall make sure she is ruined! The universe will know her no more! We…the two Salvadors…will ruin…the Doctor…forever!”
