Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Day 12 of ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar 2022.
Happy Birthday, Sarah Sutton!
What happens when Nyssa and Adric confront the Urbankans in ‘Four to Doomsday’? 🙂
I find it interesting that Adric would praise the Urbankans so highly and not realise the oppression they would bring to Earth once they arrive there in four days (two if we’re counting down). Adric points out the good things about the Urbankans to Nyssa, whereas she describes it as ‘fine tyranny’.
It was funny when Monarch did the ‘modest’ cough whilst Enlightenment was praising him to Nyssa. It does become tense when Nyssa seems to be comparing Monarch to the Master who had killed her father. Adric does seem naïve when he ‘spills the beans’ about the Doctor to Monarch.
When we see the Doctor and Tegan with Bigon, it’s fascinating how they learn from him that Monarch will destroy Earth just as he destroyed Urbanka. It’s also bizarre to think of the idea that Monarch could actually be God. Even my best mate from school Stephen found the idea ridiculous. 😀
I found it funny when Monarch became sorrowful for the loss of Nyssa’s father before changing his tone and wanting to know more about the Doctor from Adric. Adric just keeps talking away about the Doctor and the TARDIS, and he’s interrupted momentarily when Nyssa tells him to ‘shut up’. 😀
When Adric goes off to look for the Doctor to ask him if Monarch can look inside his TARDIS, it becomes tense when Nyssa is made to stay behind, as Monarch and the Urbankans are about to do something to do her. I liked the reaction on Nyssa’s face when she became afraid of Monarch.
Thanks for watching and reading!
Check out what Day 12 of my ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendars for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 were about!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂

Hi Tim.
It’s nice to see you reviewing these YouTube clips of Seasons 12 and 19. I’ve already seen them, in addition to watching them on Blu-Ray. I’m hoping to soon be done with my reviews of ‘Robot’ and ‘Castrovalva’ before resuming watching those seasons in order to review them.
I see you’ve uploaded ‘Return to Christmas’ today as well. It’s good that you did it on Sarah Sutton’s birthday. Unfortunately, I’m aware that ‘Return to Christmas’ contains spoilers for ‘The Coins of Deno’ which I haven’t finished reading yet. Hopefully I’ll read ‘Return to Christmas’ next year.
P.s. do you have your copy of Season 2 on Blu-Ray yet?
Take care, WF92.

Hi Xav,
Thanks for commenting on Day 12 of my 2022 ‘Bradley’s Basement’s Advent Calendar. I’m glad you’re enjoying me reviewing ‘Doctor Who’ YouTube clips from Seasons 12 and 19. I look forward to your reviews on ‘Robot’ and ‘Castrovalva’ when they come out on your blog.
I’m pleased I’ve shared ‘Return to Christmas’ on Sarah Sutton’s birthday today. I wouldn’t mind if you read ‘Return to Christmas’ without reading the rest of ‘The Coins of Deno’, so you can read the Christmas Special if you want to 😀
I have my copy of Season 2 on Blu-ray. It’ll take a while for me to get around to updating my reviews on the nine stories in the season, as I’m doing a ‘Doctor Who’ 60th anniversary marathon showcasing all the stories in the TV series from ‘An Unearthly Child’ to ‘The Power of the Doctor’ and beyond. We’ll have to wait and see if I ever do get to update my reviews on Season 2 of ‘Doctor Who’ in the New Year. 🙂
Many thanks for your comments.
Tim 🙂
