Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Here we are again with another review of a ‘Doctor Who’ Target novelization/audiobook from Series 14 of the new TV series, featuring the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday. Today, it’s time to check out the Target novelization/audiobook of ’73 Yards’ by Scott Handcock, based on the TV script by Russell T. Davies. Scott Handcock was the script editor on ’73 Yards’ as well as for the whole of Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. He has also directed some Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’, including the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Marc audio stories and ‘The War Master’ audio series, starring Sir Derek Jacobi as the War Master.
The unabridged audiobook of ’73 Yards’ is read by Susan Twist, who played the hiker in the TV episode and would later play Susan Triad in the ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. I purchased the paperback edition of the ’73 Yards’ Target novelization along with the unabridged BBC audiobook via Audible. It’s been interesting to check out Scott Handcock’s Target novelization of ’73 Yards’, especially considering I have mixed feelings about the story despite me enjoying Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday in the episode. Will the Target novelization change my mind about ’73 Yards’? Is there something more to be gained from reading and hearing the Target novelization/audiobook compared to seeing the TV episode?
The novelization/audiobook review has been added to my TV review of ’73 Yards’. Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my review by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase the novelization/audiobook of ‘Doctor Who – 73 Yards’ either from Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.com or Audible.
Enjoy!
Bye for now!
Tim. 🙂
