Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to close off Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series by taking a look at the five-part adventure ‘The Dæmons’. This happens to be a favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story among the fans. It stars Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, John Levene as Sergeant Benton and Roger Delgado as the Master. Today, we go back in time, as the third story in Season 3 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series takes us to the city of Troy, where the Greeks and the Trojans are fighting each other. This is ‘The Myth Makers’, a four-part historical adventure. It features the departure of Maureen O’Brien as Vicki and it introduces a new companion in Adrienne Hill as Katarina. After sharing ‘The Lord of the Rings: Comedy Version’ in my 2021 advent calendar last December, I’ve finished updating my reviews on ‘The Lord of the Rings’ BBC radio series set in the world of Middle-Earth! I’ve enjoyed revisiting this radio series and updating my reviews on the three volumes. The ‘LOTR’ radio series stars Ian Holm as Frodo Baggins, Michael Horden as Gandalf, Robert Stephens as Aragorn, John Le Mesurier as Bilbo Baggins, Peter Woodthorpe as Gollum and Bill Nighy as Samwise Gamgee.
