Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Happy New Year everyone! 🙂 And on the 1st of January 2026, it’s time for the final instalment of the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season of ‘Doctor Who’ stories, which I’ve shared from December 2025 to January 2026. It’s time for the BBC Children’s Books adventure called ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ by Paul Magrs, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough, which is set between ‘Mawdryn Undead’ and ‘Terminus’. I’d been meaning to read this story for the 2024 to 2025 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season when the book was published in July 2024. I wasn’t able to find the time to check out the book, but thankfully, I’ve been able to find time and read the book for the 2025 to 2026 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season.
I’ve also had the chance to read the book twice along hearing the audiobook that came out in September 2025, as part of the ‘Puffin Classics’ audiobook collection, which I purchased and listened to via Audible. The audiobook for ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ is read by Ayesha Antoine, who played Dee Dee Blasco in the TV episode ‘Midnight’. I’m very thankful I’ve been able to check out, read and hear ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ before the end of 2025 and include it in my latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, especially with everything being so busy for the latter half of the previous year. But does my experience of ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’, both in reading the book on its own and reading it with the audiobook in the background, make a difference? Was ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ a worthwhile adventure with the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough?
Please feel free to check out, read and comment on my latest review on ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ by clicking on the link for it. You can purchase the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ book from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com and you can purchase the ‘Doctor Who in Wonderland’ audiobook as part of the ‘Puffin Classics’ audiobook collection via Audible.co.uk or Audible.com.
Enjoy! 🙂
That’s all for the latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from December 2025 to January 2026. I hope you enjoyed it! 🙂 There’ll be another ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season to look forward to in the New Year, which will include a brand-new review on the Short Trip audio story ‘Hard Feelings’ by Phillip Lawrence. It’ll feature the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa as well as Cybermen and it will be read by Sarah Sutton. It will be part of the ‘Impeccable and Other Stories’ Short Trips audio collection, which will be released in February 2026. Hopefully, there’ll be another full-cast audio story or stories featuring Sarah Sutton as Nyssa in the New Year. What it or they will be called and who exactly will appear in it or them as well as Sarah Sutton as Nyssa is yet to be determined. But I’m keen to keep a look out throughout 2026 and hopefully, it’ll be worth the wait. I know I said it last year, but I also hope to update my reviews on ‘The Lost Stories’ audio trilogy featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan, including ‘The Elite’, ‘Hexagora’ and ‘The Children of Seth’. My plan to do my latest ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season sooner rather than later hasn’t exactly gone to plan. Hopefully, the next ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season from 2026 to 2027 will occur and I will share my next set of ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews on time for this year.
In the meantime, stay tuned!
Thanks for reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂
