The Tom Baker era of ‘Doctor Who’ begins! 🙂 Welcome to Season 12 of the classic TV series. We begin by looking at ‘Robot’, a four-part story by Terrance Dicks. It introduces Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, who is joined by Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith as well as Ian Marter, who makes his debut, as Harry Sullivan. It’s time for the second story in Season 11 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘Invasion of the Dinosaurs’, starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. This six-part adventure also features Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates (this story sees a character change in Mike) and John Levene as Sergeant Benton. Welcome to the first story of Season 5 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series! 🙂 This is ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’, a four-part story where Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria visit the planet Telos where the tombs of the Cybermen are. This story was considered lost for a while before it returned to the BBC Archives in 1992. You can watch ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’ either on DVD or on Britbox. Continue reading

Today, I’ve added my review on the novelization/audiobook, ‘Doctor Who and the Dinosaur Invasion’ by Malcolm Hulke. This is a novelization on the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV story, ‘Invasion of Dinosaurs’, with the Third Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and U.N.I.T. The audiobook is read by Martin Jarvis, who played Butler in the TV story.
