For the past three weeks in January, my parents and I have been checking out ‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy on the big screen at Showcase Cinema in Nantgarw near Cardiff. It’s the 30th anniversary of the 1989 ‘Batman’ film by director Tim Burton and I saw the movie on the big screen for a limited re-release at Showcase Cinemas in Nantgarw! This week, I saw a re-release of the 1939 film, ‘The Wizard of Oz’ starring Judy Garland, at Showcase Cinemas in Nantgarw, Cardiff. It was great to see the film on the big screen with my parents. Who am I to argue? ‘The Lord of the Rings’ is one of the best movie trilogies ever made in the history of cinema. It’s well-directed by Peter Jackson, with strong characters and amazing worlds in Middle-Earth, based on the books by J.R.R. Tolkien. Without a doubt, it’s the most successful of film trilogies.
