Power Month (Day 20) – ‘The Spit Flower’ (MMPR)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’s blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Let’s have ourselves a Kimberley-focused ‘Power Rangers’ episode for today’s ‘Power Month’ instalment, as Kimberley builds a float containing flowers for an Angel Grove parade. Thankfully, Bulk and Skull don’t smash up the float as you might expect. It’s Rita Repulsa’s Putties that do that. The Power Rangers teens also have to thwart the menace of the Spit Flower, Rita’s latest monster, who devours and spits out flowers that end up having vicious teeth. Can the Rangers defeat the Spit Flower monster with the Dragon Megazord? Or is there another means of destroying the monster? Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Partners In Crime’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is, in my opinion, the best season featured in the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and is my favourite. It features the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, who previously appeared in ‘The Runaway Bride’ and she becomes the Tenth Doctor’s travelling companion in this season. We start off Series 4 with the episode ‘Partners In Crime’ by Russell T. Davies where the Tenth Doctor and Donna investigate Adipose Industries before they reunite with each other. The episode features the return of Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum, and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, who previously appeared in ‘Voyage of the Damned’ and happens to be Donna’s granddad. There’s also special guest star Sarah Lancashire as Miss Foster. ‘Partners In Crime’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

Power Month (Day 19) – ‘Itsy Bitsy Spider’ (MMPR)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’s blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for a Zack-focused ‘Power Rangers’ episode in today’s ‘Power Month’ instalment, as we have Zack overcoming his fear of spiders. The Spirit Statue in Angel Grove gets stolen by Squatt and Baboo to be replaced by a duplicate statue containing the latest monster called Spidertron. Can Zack overcome his arachnophobia when fighting Spidertron? Will the other Rangers help Zack whilst fighting off Spidertron first on the ground and then fighting him as a giant in their Zords? There’s also a pet mouse – sorry, assistant – that Billy has in the episode called Jack. 😀 Continue reading

Power Month (Day 18) – ‘The Trouble With Shellshock’ (MMPR)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’s blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s back to a single-episode story today, as we continue ‘Power Month’ by taking a look at the first ‘Power Rangers’ episode where Tommy is now a member of the Power Rangers team and isn’t trying to destroy his new-found friends. It’s time for ‘The Trouble With Shellshock’, where Squatt and Baboo create their own monster called Shellshock that they send in to destroy the Power Rangers. Can the Rangers thwart the new Shellshock monster with Trini running on the spot non-stop, and Kimberly, Billy and Zack being frozen? Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Time Crash’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, let’s check out another one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the new TV series, and it happens to be a mini-episode by Steven Moffat. This is ‘Time Crash’, an eight-minute Children In Need episode that was shown on the 16th of November 2007. It stars David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor. It was lovely to see this mini-episode back in 2007, as it features two of my favourite Doctors in ‘Doctor Who’. Also, with Peter Davison being a classic series Doctor meeting up with David Tennant as a new series Doctor, this mini-episode feels extra-special. ‘Time Crash’ can be checked out on DVD and Blu-ray as well as here via the following BBC YouTube video. 🙂 Continue reading

It stars Peter Davison – well-known for starring in the original ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ and ‘Doctor Who’. 🙂 Continue reading
