Hello everyone! 🙂
Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
Children in Need night is on tomorrow in the UK! And it happens to be Pudsey Bear’s 40th birthday! To celebrate the occasion, I saw this latest video on YouTube produced by Steve Healey, starring Pudsey Bear as the Doctor from ‘Doctor Who’ with Sophie Aldred as Ace!
Let’s check out how Ace and the Pudsey Bear Doctor thwart a Dalek and a Cyberman!
The first thing that stands out for me from this video is how funny it is, especially when the Dalek and the Cyberman are at loggerheads with each other. They debate about saying “Exterminate!” and “Delete!” when they’re not looking at Pudsey Bear – twice over!
Incidentally, if the Pudsey Bear Doctor was miniaturised, wasn’t this the work of the Master rather than the work of the Dalek and the Cyberman? Maybe the Master did the work for them but wasn’t bothered to stick around for the Dalek and Cybermen to argue.
It was lovely to see Sophie Aldred return as Ace in this video along with her trademark Ace jacket. I’m looking forward to seeing Sophie again at the ‘Happy Who Year’ event in Andover next January. Her enthusiasm for playing Ace in this little mini-episode shines. 🙂
I did a Google search via image, and apparently, the filming location for this mini-episode happens to be Harlaxton Manor, a 19th century manor house located in Lincolnshire, England. It looks lovely on the outside and inside. I’m very sure Sophie enjoyed filming there.
I also checked the mini-episode’s credits in the video and I believe some of it was also filmed at Grantham College. Upon rewatching the mini-episode, it was good to hear an ‘Earthshock’ Cyberman with a new TV series voice and say “Delete!” instead of “Excellent!” 😀
I know this is a mini-episode made for Children in Need, but I’m curious how the Doctor ended up looking like Pudsey Bear. As well as how he got Sylvester McCoy’s trademark Seventh Doctor umbrella. And having the TARDIS exterior looking so yellow instead of blue.
‘Tiny Time Lord Trouble’ has been very enjoyable to watch. I’m glad I’ve seen it on YouTube. I’m not sure how ‘Doctor Who’ will officially celebrate Children in Need, but I doubt it will match to ‘Tiny Time Lord Trouble’. It’s also lovely Sophie Aldred appeared as Ace in the video.
If you’d like to donate to Children in Need, please visit their website. Before we finish, here are a couple more Pudsey Bear/‘Doctor Who’-related videos. One has Pudsey revealed as the Doctor and one has Sophie reenacting the Season 26 Blu-ray box trailer with Pudsey.
Enjoy!
Doctor…Pudsey?
More Than Just a Bear…
Thanks for watching and reading!
Bye for now!
Tim 🙂

Interesting to see a yellow TARDIS. Thank you for sharing, Tim.

Hi scifimike,
Glad you enjoyed the mini-episode. Pudsey having a yellow TARDIS has echoes of the white and black TARDISes in the Big Finish audios featuring the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Hex from ‘The Angel of Scutari’ to ‘Gods and Monsters’, I believe. 😀
Many thanks,
Tim 🙂

If the TARDIS could be painted pink in The Happiness Patrol, then it’s understandable why the powers that be might occasionally like to try new colors for the TARDIS.

Hi scifimike,
I’m surprised we’ve not had a red telephone box for a TARDIS yet. I’ve already done one in my ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The Space Hotel’. 😀
Best wishes,
Tim 🙂

As I understood, they would have had a red telephone box TARDIS for the planned-at-the-time series where David Burton was going to be the 8th Doctor.

Hi scifimike,
Oh, that’s interesting about David Burton’s 8th Doctor having his own red telephone box TARDIS. I didn’t know this. Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Tim 🙂
