Convention Report – ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough 2025’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley.

Last weekend, I attended ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ on Saturday 4th October 2025. This was my second ‘MegaCon Live’ convention this year, as I attended ‘MegaCon Live Birmingham’ back in March 2025. I greatly enjoyed going to ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’.

For me, the highlight of the day was seeing Sarah Sutton (Nyssa of Traken in ‘Doctor Who’). ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ was a two-day event, but Sarah ended up going on Saturday only. A shame she wasn’t there for the two days, but I’m still glad I saw her again.

There were also three Doctors attending ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’, including Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor), Colin Baker (the Sixth Doctor) and Paul McGann (the Eighth Doctor). I got to meet up with the three Doctors and say “Hello” to them during the day. 🙂

My parents also joined me for ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ that Saturday. It was nice they tagged along, and we enjoyed having photos with the ‘Doctor Who’ stars. The event probably wasn’t so busy in ‘Doctor Who’ terms, since it was a multi-purpose event, really.

I still enjoyed seeing Sarah, Peter, Colin and Paul and I managed to achieve everything I wanted to do that day, including having photos with the guests, getting autographs and doing an interview with Sarah. Here’s what the highlights of the Saturday were like for me.

It took a while for the ‘Doctor Who’ stars to settle in, so, my parents and I explored the merchandise stalls. There was a place where Daleks and a TARDIS were on display. My parents and I had photos taken with a Dalek in a Tom Baker scarf and hat, and the TARDIS.

I took photos of some of the Daleks on display too. Apparently, there was a 1989 redesign of a Dalek by Raymond Cusick, made exclusively for ‘Doctor Who Magazine’, called Dalek Soraks. It was built from 2019 to 2021. It was a very unusual Dalek design to be witnessed.

I saw Sarah Sutton throughout the day and had some lovely chats with her. I got to have a couple of selfies with Sarah, and of course, Cuddles, my cuddly toy dog, wanted to be in the selfies too. My parents had selfies with Sarah and I’m happy to share them on my blog.

In my chats with Sarah, we talked about ‘Doctor Who’, of course, including the Big Finish audios and some possible Blu-ray extras to look forward to. Sarah signed my CD box set covers for the 12-part audio story ‘Hooklight’, which I’m looking forward to hearing soon.

I saw Peter Davison at the convention and had quite a lengthy chat with him whilst he signed my CD box set covers for the 12-part audio story ‘Hooklight’. I got to chat with him about ‘Campion’, as my parents and I have been revisiting the BBC TV crime series lately.

I also saw Colin Baker. It was great to catch up with him on Saturday. Colin signed my ‘Vengeance on Varos’ DVD cover and I shared how much I’ve enjoyed the audiobooks of that story lately. We also chatted about ‘Star Trek Continues’, which he guest-starred in.

At 12pm, we had photo shoots with the ‘Doctor Who’ guests. I had a group photo with Colin Baker, Paul McGann and Peter Davison, I had individual photos with Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison, and I had a duo photo with Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison. Terrific! 🙂

My parents also had photos with the ‘Doctor Who’ stars. My Mum had a photo with Peter and my Dad had a photo with Sarah. My parents and I also had photos with Sarah and Peter. This wasn’t planned, as I initially intended to have just one photo with all five of us.

I assumed I had to purchase three duo photo options with Sarah and Peter to cover me and my parents for one photo. But it turns out I didn’t need to do that, as buying one photo option was enough. Thankfully, we got more than one photo, which I’m very pleased about.

I thought it was three photos of us five that were taken. But when I saw Sarah at her signing desk that afternoon, apparently, four had been taken and she’d picked up the fourth one for me to collect. That was kind of her, and it was a nice surprise to come across that day.

After the photos, there was Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison’s panel talk at 1pm. I helped Sarah and Peter with trivia about David Tennant being the Fourteenth Doctor, Carole Ann Ford returning to ‘Doctor Who’ and them doing ‘Alien Heart’ and ‘Dalek Soul’ for Big Finish.

I asked a question about whether Sarah and Peter would have appreciated having two seasons for the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric rather than just having one season. I enjoyed the answer Peter gave, since he wasn’t sure whether it would’ve been better or not.

That afternoon, I did an interview with Sarah Sutton about her ‘Doctor Who’ debut in ‘The Keeper of Traken’. It was great chatting to Sarah about ‘The Keeper of Traken’, having missed out on the ‘Projections in Time’ event for the story in London back in August.

Sarah found a place where it was mostly quiet and we didn’t have a lot of interference from the main hall of the comic con that day. The interview with Sarah was the main highlight for me. I’m happy I’ve been able to put it together in the following YouTube video.

After the interview with Sarah, I saw Paul McGann, and he signed my CD sleeve notes of the second volume of ‘Hooklight’ for me. I didn’t get to chat with Paul much, as he was in the middle of chatting with another fan, but I’m happy I got to say hello to him that day. 🙂

The day ended with me saying goodbye to Sarah. I’m very pleased that I saw Sarah before she left for the day. We had quite a lengthy chat before we said goodbye. We chatted about what holidays we had, and we looked forward to seeing each other in Andover next January.

‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ was a worthwhile event in October 2025. I’m very pleased I got to see Sarah Sutton before the end of the year and I’m very pleased I got to do my ‘Keeper of Traken’ interview with Sarah, as we didn’t get to do the interview in Bury in June.

It was lovely to see Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Paul McGann at ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ too and I’m very pleased that my parents and I got to have our photos taken with the stars. It was a very fulfilling day to see Sarah and the three Doctors in Farnborough. 🙂

The Melkur and Nyssa in ‘The Keeper of Traken’ signed by Sarah Sutton

Incidentally, my parents bought a signed photo of Sarah Sutton as Nyssa from ‘The Keeper of Traken’ for me at ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’, which was very nice of them. My parents had a very pleasant chat with Sarah whilst I was chatting to Peter at the same time. 🙂

I’m looking forward to seeing Sarah Sutton again and ‘Doctor Who’ stars like Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Carole Ann Ford, Anneke Wills, Katy Manning, Janet Fielding and Sophie Aldred at ‘Happy Who Year’ in Andover next year.

Before that though, I’m looking forward to seeing Millie Gibson (Ruby Sunday) again at ‘Film & Comic Con Cardiff’ later in October. I also hope to go to the ‘London Comic Con Winter’ in November 2025 and meet Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) for the very first time. 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
