Page Update – ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

For those of you new to ‘Bradley’s Basement’, I’ve been sharing my ‘Doctor Who’ fan-fiction stories featuring the Fifth Doctor, as played by Peter Davison in the classic TV series, in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series. There’s also Nyssa of Traken (played by Sarah Sutton) and Billy Walker (played by me 😀 ). I’ve updated my page on ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ to connect to ‘Doctor Who by Tim Bradley’ on ‘Bradley’s Basement’. The four sections featured in ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ include ‘Before the Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’, ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series itself, ‘Beyond the Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ and ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley (Unbound)’. I’ve yet to share ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’, which will feature the Fifth Doctor, joined by his companions Nyssa and Billy. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Paradise Towers’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We come to one of my favourite stories in Season 24 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series (Yes, I know what I said 😀 ), starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Bonnie Langford as Mel. This is ‘Paradise Towers’, a four-part adventure by Stephen Wyatt. This story takes place in a futuristic tower block and features special guest stars like Richard Briers, Clive Merrison, Brenda Bruce and Judy Cornwall. Despite this being one of my favourite stories in Season 24, does that mean I can’t identify faults in some of the writing and the performances of the cast? ‘Paradise Towers’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Castrovalva’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Today, we begin the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and we come to my favourite season from the classic TV series – Season 19. To start off, let’s take a look at ‘Castrovalva’, a four-part story by Christopher H. Bidmead. In the story, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor is recovering from his recent regeneration, but he has Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan to help him out. Meanwhile, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric has been captured by Anthony Ainley as the evil Master. ‘Castrovalva’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

And thus ‘the moment has been prepared for’, as we come to the finale of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series as well as the end of the seven-year Tom Baker/Fourth Doctor era. Today, it’s time for ‘Logopolis’, a four-part story by Christopher H. Bidmead. This story introduces us to Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, an Australian air hostess who accidentally joins Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric aboard the TARDIS. It also features the return of Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, who becomes a proper ‘Doctor Who’ companion here, as well as the return of Anthony Ainley as the evil Master. ‘Logopolis’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Here we are on my favourite story out of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for us to check out ‘The Keeper of Traken’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. It also introduces us to my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion – Sarah Sutton as Nyssa of Traken.
