I’ve just updated my review on the Target novelization ‘Doctor Who and the Horns of Nimon’ by Terrance Dicks. This ‘Doctor Who’ story features the Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K-9 Mark II. I revisited this Target novelization with the latest BBC audiobook read by Geoffrey Beevers, who is well-known for playing the Master and voicing the Melkur in ‘The Keeper of Traken’. There’s also John Leeson who voices K-9 in the audiobook for ‘The Horns of Nimon’ Target novelization. Continue reading

Basement Update & Quick Review – Season 20 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

You may have noticed the inactivity that’s occurring on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ so far in January 2024. Rest assured, I haven’t been idle. I’m currently putting together my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter in March and April and I’m working on ‘The Sunfire Chronicles’ set of short stories. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Caves of Androzani’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Season 21 isn’t over yet, but it’s time for the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ to come to an end. It’s time for ‘The Caves of Androzani’, a four-part story by Robert Holmes. This is rated as possibly the best ‘Doctor Who’ story ever made in the entire TV series. Is this something I agree with? In the story, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri visit the planet Androzani Minor, where they step into some raw spectrox and start to die from it. Can the Fifth Doctor save Peri in time from the poisonous effects of the deadly spectrox? There are some special guest cameos of Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Matthew Waterhouse as Adric, Kamelion, voiced by Gerald Flood, and Anthony Ainley as the Master in the story. ‘The Caves of Androzani’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Five Doctors’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, as we take a look at the 20th anniversary special called ‘The Five Doctors’ by Terrance Dicks. ‘The Five Doctors’ stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, William Hartnell and Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, and Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. There’s also Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Lalla Ward as Romana and more. I highly recommend watching the 101-minute Special Edition version of ‘The Five Doctors’, as that has more scenes and CGI effects in it. You can check out the Special Edition version on Disc 2 of the 25th Anniversary 2-disc DVD edition of ‘The Five Doctors’. There’s also the original 90-minute TV version of the story, which can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Continue reading
