Season 2 of ‘Doctor Who’ with William Hartnell on Blu-ray #6

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

In today’s instalment of our look into Season 2 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series via its Blu-ray box set, we come to what’s considered an oddity in the season. Not so much on the story, but the fact that it happens to be an incomplete story featured in the story. It’s time for the four-part story ‘The Crusade’ by David Whitaker, which has two of the four episodes still remaining. The first and third episodes are intact whilst the second and fourth episodes are filled in by telesnap reconstructions on ‘The Crusade’s Blu-ray disc. The story stars William Hartnell as the First Doctor, William Russell as Ian, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara and Maureen O’Brien as Vicki. There are also special guest stars Julian Glover as Richard the Lionheart and Jean Marsh as Joanna, King Richard’s sister. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

To celebrate Sarah Sutton’s birthday today, I’ve put together a list of all the conventions I’ve attended over the years from 2010 to 2023, which includes ‘Doctor Who’ conventions, multi-purpose conventions and a ‘Star Trek’ convention. You can check out my ‘convention memories’ blog posts and my convention reports by clicking on the images below. Continue reading

The ‘Indiana Jones’ Movies

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

This past month or so, I’ve been checking out the ‘Indiana Jones’ films – the first four on Disney+ and the fifth and latest film at the cinema. I’ve enjoyed checking out the five ‘Indiana Jones’ films. They’ve been fun and thrilling adventures, starring Harrison Ford as the intrepid archaeologist and adventurer. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘City of Death’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to check out my absolute favourite Fourth Doctor/Tom Baker era ‘Doctor Who’ story. Here we are on ‘City of Death’, a four-part story by ‘David Agnew’ (pseudonym for David Fisher, Douglas Adams and Graham Williams). This is the second story in the classic TV series of ‘Doctor Who’, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Lalla Ward as Romana. There are also special guest stars like Julian Glover, Catherine Schell, Tom Chadbon, David Graham, Peter Halliday, John Cleese and Eleanor Bron. ‘City of Death’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Crusade’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to have another venture into history with ‘Doctor Who’, as the First Doctor TARDIS team end up in 12th Century Palestine. There, King Richard the Lionheart engages in a holy war with the Saracen leader Saladin. The story features special guest stars Julian Glover as King Richard and Jean Marsh as his sister Joanna. Sadly, only the first and third episodes of this four-part story have survived in the BBC Archives. You can check out the first and third episodes of ‘The Crusade’ in the ‘Lost In Time’ DVD collection, in the Season 2 Blu-ray box set, and/or Britbox. You can also enjoy the entire four-part story on audio CD or as a download from Audible. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU! It’s Day 3 of ‘Star Wars’ week on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ in May 2022! It’s very fitting to be sharing my reviews on the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy on ‘Star Wars’ 45th anniversary! This is where it all started before the prequels trilogy, the sequels trilogy and Disney+ shows like ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ happened. 🙂 Continue reading

Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker on Blu-ray #2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We continue checking out Season 17 of ‘Doctor Who’ on Blu-ray with Tom Baker by taking a look at the second story in the season called ‘City of Death’. This is my second favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire series (the first of course being ‘Black Orchid’). The story has Paris in 1979; Julian Glover as the villain; a cameo of John Cleese and Eleanor Bron; and an enjoyable comedy-drama plot by Douglas Adams, based on the ideas by David Fisher. Convention Memories – ‘Cardiff Film & Comic Con 2014’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

Before I share my latest convention report on the ‘London Comic Con Spring’ from last weekend, let’s talk about another set of ‘convention memories’! It’s time to talk about the first convention I attended back in 2014 – the ‘Cardiff Film & Comic Con’! This was held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, March 2014. This was one of the happiest conventions I attended, since it was close to home. 🙂 Continue reading

Quick TV Episode Review – ‘Grantchester’, Christmas Special 2016

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The 2016 Christmas Special of ‘Grantchester’ has the distinction of being the only ‘Grantchester’ Christmas Special to be made so far. Unlike ‘Call the Midwife’ and ‘Doctor Who’ where they would regularly make festive episodes every year, ‘Grantchester’ hasn’t done that many Christmas Specials. Continue reading

Convention Memories – ‘Regenerations 2010’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My ‘convention memories’ continue today, as I share about my second ‘Doctor Who’ convention experience on my blog. My first convention experience was the ‘Fifth Element’ event back in February 2010. After I’d finished my IT degree at Cardiff University, I attended ‘Regenerations 2010’. Continue reading
