It’s time for us to check out the two-part season finale of Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, and it’s a big one. 😀 This is ‘The Stolen Earth’/’Journey’s End’ by Russell T. Davies. David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble lead a SUPER MEGA cast, as this two-part adventure features the return of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones, John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. There’s also Noel Clarke as Mickey Smith and Camille Coduri as Jackie Tyler, Rose’s mum. There’s Penelope Wilton as Harriet Jones, Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, Jacqueline King as Sylvia Noble and Adjoa Andoh as Francine Jones. There’s Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper and Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones from ‘Torchwood’, and there’s Tommy Knight as Luke Smith and Mr. Smith, voiced by Alexander Armstrong from ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’. The Daleks also make their return, and they’re led by Julian Bleach who makes his debut as Davros. In this ‘Power Rangers’ episode for ‘Power Month’ today, Finster creates a new monster for Rita Repulsa on her birthday (seriously). 😀 It’s a monster called Fang, who is very obsessed with having his Goony Bird eggs for lunch. That is until Squatt and Baboo eat them. 😮 Fang becomes upset. 😐 He’s then tricked by Rita and her goons to fight the Power Rangers to acquire more eggs. Will the Rangers be able to defeat the Goony Bird egg-obsessed Fang with their Zords? Will Tommy be able to help his friends as the Green Ranger once he’s captured by Putties? 😐 Continue reading

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!
It’s Bank Holiday Monday in August in the UK in 2023 today. Here we are on the penultimate story of Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for ‘Turn Left’ by Russell T. Davies. In this ‘Doctor Who’ episode, it’s the turn of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble to be without David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, as she finds herself living a different life in a parallel universe where she never met the Doctor, forced on her by Chipo Chung as the Fortune Teller. It’s where we have the return of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler (Yes, I know she appeared in ‘Partners In Crime’, ‘The Poison Sky’ and ‘Midnight’, but those were brief cameos). This episode also features Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, Donna’s granddad. There’s also the introduction of Noma Dumezweni as U.N.I.T. On the twenty-seventh day of ‘Power Month’ in 2023, let’s look at the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ episode called ‘A Star Is Born’. In this episode, Tommy auditions for a karate commercial. Bulk also auditions for the commercial. Who do you think will be the winner? 😀 The other Rangers also spend a day at the beach before they get rudely interrupted by Scorpina and Goldar attacking them with two monsters that become giants. The Rangers will have to use their Zords to thwart these menaces. Will they succeed in their Megazord fights against the monsters? 😐 Continue reading

We come now to what is considered a fan-favourite in the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Even Janet Fielding who plays Tegan in the classic TV series likes this episode. This is ‘Midnight’, a ‘Doctor Who’ episode by Russell T. Davies. In the episode, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor is without Catherine Tate as Donna on the planet Midnight, as he takes a shuttle tour to visit a waterfall made of sapphires. There are special guest stars like Lesley Sharp as Sky Silvestry, Rakie Ayola as the Hostess, David Troughton (one of Patrick Troughton’s sons) as Professor Hobbes, Ayesha Antoine as Dee Dee Blasco, Lindsey Coulson as Val Cane, Daniel Ryan as Biff Cane, and Colin Morgan (well-known for playing Merlin in ‘Merlin’) as Jethro Cane. Let’s check out another ‘Power Rangers’ episode today in ‘Power Month’. This one focuses on Kimberly, who has a bad day, which includes getting soaking wet in the rain on her way to school. Rita Repulsa adds to Kimberly’s bad day by sending in the new monster called Samurai Fan Man. 😀 He captures Kimberly and puts her in a giant jar, trapping her in another dimension. The Rangers need to thwart the efforts of Samurai Fan Man, which includes summoning their Zords to form their Megazords. Will the Power Rangers be able to free Kimberly from the nightmare trap she’s in? 😐 Continue reading

It’s time for us to check out the two-part ‘Doctor Who’ adventure ‘Silence in the Library’/’Forest of the Dead’ by Steven Moffat. In this two-part story, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna visit a planet-sized library called the Library. 😀 There, they meet Alex Kingston as River Song, who makes her first ‘Doctor Who’ appearance in the new TV series. River happens to know the Doctor whereas the Doctor doesn’t know her yet. She’s part of a team of archaeologists, including Steve Pemberton as Strackman Lux, Talulah Riley as Miss Evangelista, Jessika Williams as Anita, O. T. Fagbenle as Other Dave and Harry Peacock as Proper Dave. The Doctor, Donna, River and the others have to survive, since the shadows in the Library contain the vicious alien Vashta Nerada. ‘Silence in the Library’/’Forest of the Dead’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. It’s time to check out ‘The Rockstar’, another episode in the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ series for today’s instalment of ‘Power Month’ this year. The Rockstar of course happens to be a monster. Surprisingly, the focus of the episode isn’t about the Rockstar. The focus happens to be about Rita Repulsa and her minions getting the Mirror of Destruction on Earth. Jason/the Red Ranger spends some time with his cousin Jeremy before he soon joins the Rangers in the fight to destroy the Mirror of Destruction in their Dino Megazord. My absolute favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story is ‘Black Orchid’. That was the classic TV series’ way of doing a period murder mystery in the 1920s. Today, we’re looking at ‘The Unicorn and the Wasp’ by Gareth Roberts, the new TV series’ way of doing a period murder mystery in the 1920s. David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble meet Fenella Woolgar (who would go on to be in ‘Call the Midwife’) as Agatha Christie at a country house. The episode also features special guest stars like Felicity Kendal (who I’ve seen in ‘The Good Life’) as Lady Eddison, Christopher Benjamin (well-known for playing Henry Gordon Jago in ‘Doctor Who’) as Colonel Hugh, Felicity Jones (who’s been in 2007’s ‘Northanger Abbey’, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ and ‘Rogue One’) as Robina Redmond, and Tom Goodman-Hill as Reverend Golightly.
