Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s the fifth ‘Doctor Who’ story in the classic TV series and the second contribution by Dalek creator Terry Nation. It’s a six-part quest romp of an adventure called ‘The Keys of Marinus’. Can the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan achieve their quest to find the Keys of Marinus and thwart the efforts of the Voord? You can watch ‘The Keys of Marinus’ either on DVD or Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Marco Polo’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The First Doctor TARDIS team takes a venture in history in this seven-part ‘Doctor Who’ adventure where they meet Marco Polo in 1289. Sadly, ‘Marco Polo’ doesn’t exist as a TV story, as all the episodes have been wiped from the BBC Archives. Thankfully, the story can be enjoyed on audio CD or vinyl or as a download from Audible. The TARDIS takes a side-step in this two-part adventure. ‘The Edge of Destruction’ is the third ‘Doctor Who’ story of the classic TV series, starring William Hartnell as the First Doctor, William Russell as Ian, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara and Carole Ann Ford as Susan, and it all takes place inside the TARDIS. You can watch the two-part story either on DVD or Britbox. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Matilda the Musical’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s funny. For a long time, I’ve never considered the idea of Roald Dahl‘s ‘Matilda’ being a musical that seriously. The stage show had a trial run in Stratford-upon-Avon from 2010 to 2011 before it had its West End premiere in 2011. Apparently, it’s a popular stage show, yet I’ve not seen it myself. We continue the 60th anniversary celebrations of ‘Doctor Who’ by taking a look at the second story in the classic TV series called ‘The Daleks’, starring William Hartnell as the First Doctor, William Russell as Ian, Jacqueline Hill as Barbara and Carole Ann Ford as Susan. Without the Daleks, ‘Doctor Who’ would never be what it is today. You can watch ‘The Daleks’ either on DVD or Britbox. Continue reading

New ‘Primeval’ Colour Photo

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s sad that Stephen Greif has passed away recently. 😦 I’ll always remember him for playing Kwundaar in the ‘Doctor Who’ audio drama ‘Primeval’ by Big Finish. For ‘Blake’s 7’ fans, he’ll always be remembered for being the first actor to play Commander Travis in Series 1 of the UK sci-fi series. Continue reading

It’s 2023 and it’s the 60th anniversary year of ‘Doctor Who’! To commemorate the occasion, I’m revisiting the ‘Doctor Who’ TV stories that are available on DVD, CD (or via Audible), Blu-ray, Britbox and BBC iPlayer throughout the 365 days of 2023. They’ll be stories from the First Doctor era leading up to the latest stories, including the 60th anniversary specials under the neo-Russell T. Davies era. There will also be summaries on each season and reflections on each Doctor in the TV series. Continue reading
