And what good timing it is to share this blog post today, as it’s exactly one year ago that ‘The Power of the Doctor’, Jodie Whittaker’s final eposode as the Thirteenth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’, was transmitted on BBC TV on the 23rd of October 2022. It’s the 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ and it’s time for me to share the first full-length episode of my epic three-part ‘Doctor Who’ 60th anniversary adventure called ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’. To celebrate eight years of ‘Bradley’s Basement’, I’m sharing a special preview of my upcoming epic three-part 60th anniversary special of ‘Doctor Who’ called ‘The Thirteen+ Doctors’. I’m sharing this epic adventure in the first three weeks of November 2023. ‘Part I: The Gathering of the Doctors’ will be released on the 6th of November, ‘Part II: The Two Masterminds’ will be released on the 13th of November, and ‘Part III: The Legacy of the Doctor’ will be released on the 20th of November. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Delta and the Bannermen’

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to have a look at my favourite story out of Season 24 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Bonnie Langford as Mel. Today, it’s time for ‘Delta and the Bannermen’, a three-part adventure by Malcolm Kohll. Most of this story takes place at a holiday camp in South Wales in 1959. There are special guest stars like Don Henderson, Belinda Mayne, Richard Davies, Stubby Kaye, Morgan Dearne, Hugh Lloyd, Sara Griffiths and of course Ken Dodd. This is definitely a classic ‘Doctor Who’ adventure to check out during a summer heatwave. 😀 ‘Delta and the Bannermen’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Continue reading →

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We come to one of my favourite stories in Season 24 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series (Yes, I know what I said 😀 ), starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Bonnie Langford as Mel. This is ‘Paradise Towers’, a four-part adventure by Stephen Wyatt. This story takes place in a futuristic tower block and features special guest stars like Richard Briers, Clive Merrison, Brenda Bruce and Judy Cornwall. Despite this being one of my favourite stories in Season 24, does that mean I can’t identify faults in some of the writing and the performances of the cast? ‘Paradise Towers’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Today, we check out the second story of Season 20 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. In today’s story, an old foe returns in the form of the Mara, who previously appeared in ‘Kinda’ in Season 19. Janet Fielding becomes possessed by the Mara again, and Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor and Sarah Sutton as Nyssa have to find a way to save her as well as thwart the evil of the Mara about to be unleashed on the planet Manussa. This story features guest stars like Martin Clunes, Colette O’Neil, John Carson and Brian Miller. ‘Snakedance’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Continue reading →

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the season finale of Season 19 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time to check out ‘Time-Flight’, a four-part story by Peter Grimwade. The story stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan. The TARDIS trio help to save a missing Concorde plane by going back in time to the prehistoric age on Earth. Janet Fielding as Tegan also makes her first departure from the series. This ‘Doctor Who’ story is considered one of the worst stories ever made in the entire series. Do I agree with that? ‘Time-Flight’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading →
