Season 20 of ‘Doctor Who’ with Peter Davison on Blu-ray #2

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We continue our look into Season 20 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, as we check out the second story of the season called ‘Snakedance’, a four-part adventure by Christopher Bailey. This is a sequel to ‘Kinda’ from Season 19, as it features the return of the malicious Mara. It stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan. Tegan is haunted by the Mara again and becomes possessed once the TARDIS takes the trio to the planet Manussa. This story features special guest stars Martin Clunes in his first ever TV role as Lon. There’s also Colette O’Neil as Tanha, Lon’s mother, John Carson as Ambril, Brian Miller (Elisabeth Sladen’s real-life husband) as Dugdale, Jonathon Morris as Chela and Preston Lockwood as Dojeen. Cinema Experience – ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (The More Fun Stuff Version)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here are my thoughts on seeing the extended cut of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the third and final ‘Spider-Man’ film of the current Tom Holland/Jon Watts film trilogy, which was shown recently at cinemas this year. This is the last film of the marathon of the eight live-action ‘Spider-Man’ movies being shown at cinemas in the UK from August to September in 2024. Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

You may have noticed the inactivity that’s occurring on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ so far in January 2024. Rest assured, I haven’t been idle. I’m currently putting together my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season for Easter in March and April and I’m working on ‘The Sunfire Chronicles’ set of short stories. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Time-Flight’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the season finale of Season 19 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time to check out ‘Time-Flight’, a four-part story by Peter Grimwade. The story stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and Janet Fielding as Tegan. The TARDIS trio help to save a missing Concorde plane by going back in time to the prehistoric age on Earth. Janet Fielding as Tegan also makes her first departure from the series. This ‘Doctor Who’ story is considered one of the worst stories ever made in the entire series. Do I agree with that? ‘Time-Flight’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Black Orchid’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about my absolute favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire TV series. And yes, I know Peter Davison hates this story, but this is one of Sarah Sutton’s favourite stories, so that’s good for me. 😀 It’s time to check out ‘Black Orchid’, a two-part story by Terence Dudley. Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric visit Cranleigh Hall in 1925. The Doctor gets to play a cricket match and Nyssa, Tegan and Adric partake in a fancy dress ball. The story features guest stars like Michael Cochrane, Moray Watson and Barbara Murray. Sarah Sutton also plays Ann Talbot, a double of Nyssa in the story. ‘Black Orchid’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

Here we are on my favourite story out of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for us to check out ‘The Keeper of Traken’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. It also introduces us to my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion – Sarah Sutton as Nyssa of Traken. This story also features the Melkur, voiced by Geoffrey Beevers and we’re introduced to Anthony Ainley as Tremas, Nyssa’s father. ‘The Keeper of Traken’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

How fitting that I’m sharing this brand-new review of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ on Bank Holiday Monday in August in the UK in 2022. Sadly, I won’t be able to see the extended version of ‘No Way Home’ at the cinema in September 2022 as hoped. I hope those of you who are going to see it will enjoy it. 🙂 In the meantime, let’s revisit the theatrical version of ‘No Way Home’, which I’ve seen again on Blu-ray and digitally via Google Play.
