‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on a ‘Doctor Who’ episode in the new TV series that gets to delve deeper into the TARDIS. This is ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’ by Steve Thompson, who previously penned ‘The Curse of the Black Spot’ in Series 6 of the new TV series. In the episode, the TARDIS gets hit by a salvage ship’s magnetic tractor beam, which causes a lot of damage to the ship’s engines. Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor forces the salvage crew to help him rescue Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, when she gets lost in the depths of the sentient space and time machine. This episode features special guest star Ashley Walters as Gregor van Baalen. I’ve seen Ashely Walters in the 2006 film adaptation of ‘Stormbreaker’. Apparently, this episode is based on showrunner Steven Moffat’s frustrations with ‘The Invasion of Time’, which intended to explore the TARDIS’ interior. Does this episode excite me enough as a ‘Doctor Who’ fan when our heroes delve deeper into the TARDIS? ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. In today’s ‘Doctor Who’ episode for the 60th Anniversary Marathon, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor is joined by Catherine Tate as Donna Noble and Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones on an adventure in ‘The Doctor’s Daughter’ by Stephen Greenhorn. On the planet Messaline in the far future, there’s a war fought between the humans and the alien Hath. There’s also the birth of the Doctor’s daughter – Georgia Moffett as Jenny. Georgia Moffett happens to be the real-life daughter of Peter Davison, who plays the Fifth Doctor in ‘Doctor Who’. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Partners In Crime’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on Series 4 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is, in my opinion, the best season featured in the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ and is my favourite. It features the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, who previously appeared in ‘The Runaway Bride’ and she becomes the Tenth Doctor’s travelling companion in this season. We start off Series 4 with the episode ‘Partners In Crime’ by Russell T. Davies where the Tenth Doctor and Donna investigate Adipose Industries before they reunite with each other. The episode features the return of Jacqueline King as Sylvia, Donna’s mum, and Bernard Cribbins as Wilfred Mott, who previously appeared in ‘Voyage of the Damned’ and happens to be Donna’s granddad. There’s also special guest star Sarah Lancashire as Miss Foster. ‘Partners In Crime’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

In this ‘Doctor Who’ adventure, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor and Billie Piper as Rose visit a planet where there is a sanctuary base and the planet happens to be close to a stable black hole in space. We’re introduced to the spaghetti-like Ood ( 😀 ), voiced by Silas Carlson, and there’s the sanctuary base crew, including Shaun Parkes as Zachary, Danny Webb as Mr. Jefferson, Claire Rushbrook as Ida, Will Thorp as Toby, Ronny Jhutti as Danny and MyAnna Buring as Scooti. Will the Tenth Doctor, Rose and their new friends survive the threat of the demonic Beast, voiced by Gabriel Woolf (who played Sutekh in ‘Pyramids of Mars’) whilst the sanctuary base is under siege by possessed Ood? ‘The Impossible Planet’/’The Satan Pit’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer.
