I’m sharing the fourth of The Doctors pages in ‘Doctor Who by Tim Bradley’ today, which is ‘The Fourth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ page. This contains links to the ‘Doctor Who’ fan-fiction stories by me featuring the Fourth Doctor, as played by Tom Baker in the classic TV series. Does this count as a proper ‘Doctor Who’ story? 😐 I don’t know, but I’m going to include it in my 60th Anniversary Marathon anyway. It’s time for ‘Dimensions In Time’, the 30th anniversary story that was released on Children In Need night back in November 1993. It’s a two-part adventure by John Nathan-Turner and David Roden, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Sophie Aldred as Ace, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Deborah Watling as Victoria, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Caroline John as Liz, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane, Louise Jameson as Leela, K-9, voiced by John Leeson, Lalla Ward as Romana, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Nicola Bryant as Peri and Bonnie Langford as Mel. Whilst Season 19 is my favourite season out of the Peter Davison/Fifth Doctor era, Season 20 is arguably my second favourite season. I acknowledge that Season 20 had its problems, particularly in the production values affected by industrial action, but I enjoyed this season more than Season 21. 🙂 Continue reading →

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, as we take a look at the 20th anniversary special called ‘The Five Doctors’ by Terrance Dicks. ‘The Five Doctors’ stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, William Hartnell and Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, and Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. There’s also Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Lalla Ward as Romana and more. I highly recommend watching the 101-minute Special Edition version of ‘The Five Doctors’, as that has more scenes and CGI effects in it. You can check out the Special Edition version on Disc 2 of the 25th Anniversary 2-disc DVD edition of ‘The Five Doctors’. There’s also the original 90-minute TV version of the story, which can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Continue reading →

To close off our look into the Tom Baker/Fourth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’ in the 60th Anniversary Marathon, it’s time for us to check out the third and final story of ‘The Quaddrigger Stoyn Trilogy’ by Big Finish called ‘Luna Romana’. Like ‘The Beginning’ and ‘The Dying Light’ before it, ‘Luna Romana’ was released to celebrate ‘Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary, albeit released in January 2014. Continue reading →

Here we are on my favourite story out of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for us to check out ‘The Keeper of Traken’, a four-part story by Johnny Byrne, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. It also introduces us to my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ companion – Sarah Sutton as Nyssa of Traken. This story also features the Melkur, voiced by Geoffrey Beevers and we’re introduced to Anthony Ainley as Tremas, Nyssa’s father. ‘The Keeper of Traken’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. We’ve come to the end of ‘The E-Space Trilogy’, but not the end of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. It’s time for ‘Warriors’ Gate’, a four-part adventure by Stephen Gallagher, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Lalla Ward as Romana, K-9, voiced by John Leeson, and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. This is quite an unusual and mind-boggling story to check out in Season 18. Does it end ‘The E-Space Trilogy’ on a satisfying conclusion? This story also features the departure of Lalla Ward as Romana and K-9 Mark II. ‘Warriors’ Gate’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox.
