‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Logopolis’

And thus ‘the moment has been prepared for’, as we come to the finale of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series as well as the end of the seven-year Tom Baker/Fourth Doctor era. Today, it’s time for ‘Logopolis’, a four-part story by Christopher H. Bidmead. This story introduces us to Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka, an Australian air hostess who accidentally joins Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric aboard the TARDIS. It also features the return of Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, who becomes a proper ‘Doctor Who’ companion here, as well as the return of Anthony Ainley as the evil Master. ‘Logopolis’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We now begin ‘The E-Space Trilogy’ (or ‘The E-Space Season’, depending on how you judge these stories with there being more made by Big Finish recently). Today, it’s the third story of Season 18 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘Full Circle’, a four-part adventure by Andrew Smith. In this story, Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Lalla Ward as Romana and K-9, voiced by John Leeson, end up in a pocket universe called E-Space where they visit the planet Alzarius and meet new companion Matthew Waterhouse as Adric. Welcome to Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series with Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. This is Tom Baker’s fourth season in ‘Doctor Who’ and it’s the first season under the reign of producer Graham Williams. We start off the season with a four-part story by Terrance Dicks called ‘Horror of Fang Rock’. The story takes places at a lighthouse. It also introduces us to a Rutan. It’s the fifth story of Season 14 in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series and it’s called ‘The Robots of Death’, a four-part adventure by Chris Boucher, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. It’s time to close off Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series by taking a look at the five-part adventure ‘The Dæmons’. This happens to be a favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story among the fans. It stars Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, John Levene as Sergeant Benton and Roger Delgado as the Master. We start off Season 7 by taking a look at the four-part adventure ‘Spearhead From Space’. This story also features the return of Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and U.N.I.T. This story also introduces Caroline John as Liz Shaw as well as the monstrous Autons and the Nestene Consciousness. ‘Spearhead From Space’ can be checked out on DVD and Blu-ray as well as on Britbox.
