Quick DVD Review – ‘Partners In Crime’ (1983-84)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

So, back in 2022, I did a quick review on the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of ‘Partners In Crime’, featuring Agatha Christie‘s less well-known characters in crime English literature – Tommy and Tuppence – played by David Walliams and Jessica Raine. I enjoyed checking out that short-lived six-part TV series. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Ghost Light’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about the second story in Season 26 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. This is ‘Ghost Light’, a three-part adventure by Marc Platt, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. The story takes place at a haunted mansion in Perivale called Gabriel Chase in the year 1883. There are special guest stars like Ian Hogg, Michael Cochrane, Sharon Duce, Frank Windsor, Sylvia Sims, etc. There are two viewpoints on how this story is rated. One that praises this story highly and the other that doesn’t get what the story’s about. Which viewpoint am I siding with? ‘Ghost Light’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Black Orchid’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time to talk about my absolute favourite ‘Doctor Who’ story in the entire TV series. And yes, I know Peter Davison hates this story, but this is one of Sarah Sutton’s favourite stories, so that’s good for me. 😀 It’s time to check out ‘Black Orchid’, a two-part story by Terence Dudley. Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Janet Fielding as Tegan and Matthew Waterhouse as Adric visit Cranleigh Hall in 1925. The Doctor gets to play a cricket match and Nyssa, Tegan and Adric partake in a fancy dress ball. The story features guest stars like Michael Cochrane, Moray Watson and Barbara Murray. Sarah Sutton also plays Ann Talbot, a double of Nyssa in the story. ‘Black Orchid’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray or Britbox. Continue reading

Both films I saw on Disney+. I’ve just finished checking out the BBC TV series ‘The Musketeers’, based on the 1844 novel. Continue reading
