Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ by Eric Saward, the fourth story in Season 21 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. Originally, this story was meant to be a four-part adventure before it became a two-part bumper edition story, with the episodes having lengths of 45 minutes each. The story has Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor fighting against the Daleks, along with their creator Davros, played by Terry Molloy. This story also features the final regular appearance of Janet Fielding as Tegan Jovanka. Mark Strickson also appears as Turlough, and there’s a special guest star appearance of Rodney Bewes, who was in ‘The Likely Lads’ and ‘Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads’. ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. It’s time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, as we take a look at the 20th anniversary special called ‘The Five Doctors’ by Terrance Dicks. ‘The Five Doctors’ stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, William Hartnell and Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, and Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. There’s also Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Lalla Ward as Romana and more. I highly recommend watching the 101-minute Special Edition version of ‘The Five Doctors’, as that has more scenes and CGI effects in it. You can check out the Special Edition version on Disc 2 of the 25th Anniversary 2-disc DVD edition of ‘The Five Doctors’. It’s the second story of Season 15 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series and we’re introduced to a new travelling companion in the TARDIS. This is ‘The Invisible Enemy’, a four-part story by Bob Baker and Dave Martin. The story introduces us to K-9, a robot dog built by Frederick Jaeger as Professor Marius. K-9 is voiced by John Leeson. It’s Easter Sunday today and it’s time for ‘The Brain of Morbius’, a four-part ‘Doctor Who’ story in the classic TV series, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. It’s the only ‘Doctor Who’ story to be written by ‘Robin Bland’ (a pseudonym for prolific ‘Doctor Who’ author Terrance Dicks 😀 ). This is one of my favourite ‘Doctor Who’ stories from the Tom Baker era and it was the first Fourth Doctor TV story I checked out on DVD in 2006. It’s a well-loved classic. This is ‘Genesis of the Daleks’, a six-part story starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Ian Marter as Harry Sullivan. We conclude the ‘Dalek War’ saga in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series today by looking at ‘Planet of the Daleks’, a six-part adventure starring Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor and Katy Manning as Jo Grant. Roger Delgado also makes his last and sadly final appearance as the Master in this ‘Doctor Who’ story.
