‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘Terror of the Autons’

After swimming through Season 7, it’s time to check out Season 8 of the classic ‘Doctor Who’ TV series. The first story of Season 8 is ‘Terror of the Autons’, where Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor confronts the Autons and the Nestene Consciousness again. He meets Katy Manning as Jo Grant, his new companion, and he also meets his archenemy, Roger Delgado as the Master. As well as Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier and John Levene as Sergeant Benton, U.N.I.T. is joined by Richard Franklin as Captain Mike Yates. For today’s instalment of the 2022-23 ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season, we’re checking out the six ‘Doctor Who’ annual stories featured in the ‘Time Wake & Other Stories’ audio collection. I’ve recently listened to the stories featured in ‘Time Wake & Other Stories’ via download on Audible. The story of interest to me is called ‘Night Flight to Nowhere’, featuring the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan. As it’s the 60th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’ next year, it’s only fair to revisit a 50th anniversary special story of ‘Doctor Who’ in the form of the comic book adventure ‘Prisoners of Time’, featuring the first eleven Doctors and their companions. The Fifth Doctor, Nyssa, Tegan and Adric appear in the fifth chapter of the graphic novel story called ‘In Their Nature’. Continue reading

I know I said I was holding back on this comic con after attending ‘Collectormania 27’ in Birmingham back in September. But after seeing Jodie Whittaker (the Thirteenth Doctor) and David Tennant (the Tenth Doctor and now the Fourteenth Doctor) in the ‘Doctor Who’ BBC Centenary Special called ‘The Power of the Doctor’, I had to go to this event before 2022 was over.
