Quick Movie Review – ‘The Marine’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

John Cena has done quite a bit in terms of being an actor. He’s been in ‘Bumblebee’ and 2021’s ‘The Suicide Squad’. It’s amazing he’s done quite a bit of acting lately as well as being a professional wrestler. Same for Dwayne Johnson, I guess. 🙂 Lately, I saw ‘The Marine’ with John Cena on Disney+. And by the way, “Happy Birthday Mum!” 😀 She enjoyed this film incidentally. 😀

Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the ‘Transformers Film Review Season’!!!!!

And I’m happy to say we’re finishing on a high, as we come to what is arguably the best ‘Transformers’ film in the live-action film series. It’s time for ‘Bumblebee’ which was released in December 2018 and directed by Travis Knight. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker and Pamela Adlon. Is this film still as good as I remember from watching it on the big screen in January 2019? Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Anna and the King’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Most of us know ‘The King and I’ story where Anna Leonowens, an English school teacher, went to Siam in the late 19th century to teach the many children and wives of King Mongkut. This has been portrayed in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical on stage, in live-action film, and in cartoon film. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘The Finest Hours’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

On the 18th of February 1952, the historic United States Coast Guard rescue of the crew of the SS Pendleton took place. On the 18th of February 2022, my parents and I watched ‘The Finest Hours’, a 2016 film that chronicled the event. It was surreal to watch the film on the event’s 70th anniversary. Continue reading

This was also the first ‘Transformers’ film that I didn’t see at the cinema when it was came out in 2014. Did I find the film worthwhile in the end when watching it for the first time on DVD? Last Friday, my parents and I saw a good Disney film on Disney+. This is the 1971 film ‘Bedknobs and Broomsticks’. I recall seeing this film as a little kid. The film might have been my introduction to World War II and the Nazis in 1940 as well as witches, though I can’t say this with absolute certainty. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Tom and Huck’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Last year, I saw the 1993 film ‘The Adventures of Huck Finn’, starring Elijah Wood as the title character. So, it makes sense for me to check out a follow-up film (of sorts, I think) called ‘Tom and Huck’, which was released in 1995. My parents and I saw this film on Disney+ lately and enjoyed it. 🙂 Continue reading
