Welcome

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Some of you know me already. If you do, thank you so much for visiting my website. And if you don’t know me, thank you for visiting my website anyway. This is the place where I add my thoughts and feelings about films, TV shows, audios and other things as well as share my favourite things about life in general.

Tim Bradley with Sarah Sutton and Peter Davison at ‘Happy Who Year at the Playhouse’, Epsom Playhouse, Epsom, January 2025

First, here’s some information about who I am. I live in Cardiff in South Wales in the UK. I’m a ‘Doctor Who’ fan and I’m a fan of Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton, who play the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa, my favourite TARDIS duo, as you can see in the photo above.

I’m also a fan of ‘Star Trek’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’, Spider-Man, Batman, ‘Back to the Future’, ‘Dad’s Army’, ‘Fawlty Towers’, etc. I try my best to have a variety of interests in film, TV, audio, etc as well as in ‘Doctor Who’, which I hope you’ll enjoy.

I’ve posted many reviews on my blog in relation to these favourite things of mine. I’ve also done ‘The Nyssa Challenge’, which includes ‘Doctor Who’ reviews on Nyssa stories I’ve seen, heard and read. I’ve also added my own fan-fiction series of ‘Doctor Who’ stories, which includes ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ series as well as my ‘Short Trips’ collection.

I also attend ‘Doctor Who’/’Star Trek’ conventions in the UK and have shared little reports on what these conventions are like and what I’ve enjoyed about them. I’ve also seen movies at the cinema as well as theatre plays and music concerts before I write quick reviews about them on my blog.

Most importantly however, I’ve created ‘Doctor Who’ timelines on my blog. These have been popular over the years since I created ‘Bradley’s Basement’. These timelines keep changing and I always keep adding new ones. Please feel free to check out my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines online.

If this is your first time to my ‘Bradley’s Basement’, I hope you’ll enjoy looking around. If you have any requests, please let me know in the comments’ feedback box below. Please also feel free to comment on any reviews I write on my blog, whether it’d be on ‘Doctor Who’, films, TV shows, books, etc.

I hope you’ll enjoy what goes on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and that I’ll keep you entertained.

Start following ‘Bradley’s Basement’ today!

Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Tim. 🙂

We had this discussion before with me sitting in the Delorean from last year, Simon. You’re still not over that?! 😀

Glad you like my photo with Sylvester, Nicola, Matthew and Louise. That was taken at the ‘London Film and Comic Con’ this year. You can find the link for my convention report on it here – https://bradleybasement.wordpress.com/2017/08/01/convention-report-london-film-and-comic-con-2017/

My ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog is due for a regeneration soon!

    Stay tuned!

    Thanks Simon.

      Hi Tom.

Yes I am. In fact I’m in Leicester now for the whole weekend to see the Doctors on Saturday and the companions on Sunday.

Are you going on Sunday to the National Space Centre too?

Hi Tim, you may remember seeing me on Saturday afternoon, we were both at Film and Comic Con Glasgow and I was asking you about the most recent trilogy of (BF Audio) adventures regarding the 7th Doctor and Mags. I have looked at the timeline of the 7th Doctor and not seen them anywhere. Could you tell me where they fit in ?

      Hi Roddy.

I just got back home in Cardiff. Yes I do remember you at the Film and Comic Con Glasgow. Nice to see you there. Thanks for dropping a line.

I’ve checked and the Seventh Doctor and Mags trilogy is there on The Seventh Doctor’s Timeline. I’ve reshuffled the placement though and put it in the 23. ‘The Seventh Doctor Alone’ (3) section instead. Someone on ‘The Divergent Universe’ forum suggested placing the trilogy in-between the last Seven, Ace and Mel story and the first Klein trilogy. So I decided to go with that. Hope this helps. Thanks again for raising your concern about this.

N.B. For future reference, do you mind leaving a comment on timeline-related stuff on the actual timelines next time. This is so everyone can know what’s been updated on a certain ‘Doctor Who’ timeline’ when they come to view it and it helps me to know which timeline you’d wish to me check and update.

      Thanks again.

      Tim. 🙂

    Hello Tim.

I just wanted to point out that the link for the Keeper of Traken doesn’t work. I put it here because I wasn’t sure where else to put it. Is there somewhere here to pose website issues?

      Hi ML.

No need to worry. There’s a reason why ‘The Keeper of Traken’ link isn’t working at your end. I’ve rescheduled ‘The Keeper of Traken’ page for December 2020 since I’ve updated my review on the Target novelization/audiobook recently as part of ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season coming up in December. You should be able to see the link by then.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to raise any issues regarding ‘Bradley’s Basement’ on the Welcome page.

        Hi ML

I don’t take commissions for my original DW stories, no. I write them for my personal pleasure and share them on my blog for people to read. If you have any story ideas you’d like to see me write in the future, please let me know and I’ll consider them.

        Thanks for asking,

        Tim. 🙂

That’s perfectly fine Tim. I’ll leave you an idea that you can refer to in the future like you said.

The idea would be that the Doctor and his companions (any era, though it can be 5th Nyssa and Billy) land at a Formula 1 Grand Prix that is under threat from an unknown enemy (you can choose the main villain). The Grand Prix can also be from any era.

Thanks for the comment and I hope that you consider my idea.

      Hi ML.

Thanks for the idea. I’ll certainly consider it. That sounds a great idea. I might consider it for a future Short Trip or perhaps a one-part story of a four-episode anthology with the Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy. I’m undecided at present. I’ll check out some Formula 1 Grand Prix videos on YouTube as part of my research.

      Many thanks,

      Tim. 🙂

      Hi Tom.

I have sent Sarah a birthday card and a Christmas card in the post last week. Hopefully she’ll receive them. Looking forward to celebrating Sarah’s birthday with ‘Black Orchid’ tomorrow.

      Hi ML

I have been considering doing a selection of video quickies for my blog. I might start on Friday with my collection of ‘Doctor Who’ vinyls. Wait and see. 😀

    Bradley:

I landed at your web-site while searching for reviews of ‘The Shop Around The Corner’.

I browsed a few of your other posts.
You put quite a bit of work here at your page – narratives, images, experiences. Great job!

I have a WordPress web-site that is mostly political and social commentary. I added your site to my Following list.

I’m not into Science Fiction myself, I shall recommend you to my social media friends who are Doctor Who fans and will probably enjoy exploring your posts.

    Thank you.

    Hi Tim,

Great website. It seems we have very similar tastes in British TV shows! As well as classic Hollywood movies.

I startwd watching the original All Creatures Great & Small in 2020 and I’m 1 episode away from finishing it (1990 Xmas Special). I’m really gonna miss it!

I wish I’d found this site sooner so I could’ve followed your reviews as I went along, quite a massive effort you’ve put in there!

The theme song will go down as one of my all time favourites.

I’m a sucker for nostalgic British TV shows. I also started Oh Dr Beeching recently, after unexpectedly enjoying You Rang m’Lord?

I look forward to discussing this more with you.

    Thanks

      Hi Paresh,

Thanks for dropping a line. Glad you’ve enjoyed ‘Bradley’s Basement’ so far. I’m pleased you’ve been enjoying the original ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ TV series so far. I’ve enjoyed it too, though I prefer the first three seasons and the 1983 and 1985 Christmas Specials than the rest of the series. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the series so far, including the theme tune. Also pleased you’re enjoying ‘Oh Doctor Beeching!’ so far. I’ve seen ‘You Rang M’Lord’ too, but not had the chance to review it yet. There’s plenty for me to check out and review and hopefully when it comes to my blog’s 10th anniversary, I’ll be able to catch up on things I’ve meant to review but haven’t had the chance to.

Hope you enjoy more of my blog.

      Best wishes,

      Tim 🙂

    Hi Tim,

The advent calendar has been enjoyable this year. I’m waiting for the Blu-Ray release of the third ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ film, so once I’ve seen it, I’ll comment on your review of it. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the film.

I’m hoping I’ll get watch ‘Joy to the World’ and Vengeance Most Fowl’ on BBC One tomorrow, although it depends on what else I’m doing. I also plan on watching live American Football on Netflix in the evening.

I watched the 1984 version of ‘A Christmas Carol’ recently, which is a very good film. I’m sure I’ll find time tonight or tomorrow to watch ‘In the Beginning’ on DVD, and I’ll probably save ‘Surviving Christmas’ for the period between Boxing Day and New Years Eve.

    Merry Christmas,

    Xavier

      Hi Xavier,

Very pleased you enjoyed my Advent Calendar this year. It was put together in a bit of a rush, but I’m glad I was able to do it this year. Hope you enjoy ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ when you get to see it. I saw ‘The War Games in Colour’ and the ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ Christmas Special last night. Looking forward to seeing ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ too. Glad you enjoyed 1984’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ recently. I haven’t seen any version of ‘A Christmas Carol’ lately. Usually, it’s ‘Scrooge’ with Alistair Sim. I’m planning to see ‘The Nativity Story’ and ‘The Bishop’s Wife’ later this evening.

      Merry Christmas and Best wishes,

      Tim 🙂

    Hi Tim,

I’ve only seen the first two episodes of the latest ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ series, so once I’ve watched the other four, I’ll check out the Christmas special.

I’ve yet to see ‘Scrooge’ with Alistair Sim.l, but I might check it out next Christmas. I know that young Scrooge is played by George Cole in that film, best known for ‘Minder’.

      Hi Xavier,

Hope you enjoy the rest of Series 5 and the latest Christmas Special of the new ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ TV series. Just scheduled my review on the Christmas Special for Boxing Day.

Yes, George Cole does play young Scrooge in the film with Alistair Sim. I’ve not seen ‘Minder’ but I have seen George Cole in one of ‘The Good Life’ episode – the Royal Command one, actually.

I’ve just seen ‘Sesame Street on Christmas Eve’ on DVD and will be getting down to watching ‘The Nativity Story’ next. I might watch ‘Doctor Who at the Proms 2024’ sometime on BBC iPlayer. Whether I’ll do that tonight or tomorrow morning is another matter. We’ll see what happens.

      Many thanks,

      Tim 🙂

      Hi Xavier,

I know. It’s very sad news. I wasn’t expecting to come across it first thing this morning. I greatly enjoyed Val Kilmer in ‘Batman Forever’ and the two ‘Top Gun’ movies.
