Quick Movie Review – ‘Paddington in Peru’

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve seen the third ‘Paddington’ movie at the cinema called ‘Paddington in Peru’. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Paddington Bear on the big screen, isn’t it? We had the first two movies in 2014 and 2017, and we had a lovely sketch with him and Queen Elizabeth II. 🙂 Continue reading

This includes the 2022 animated musical film ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ and the 2018 film ‘The Grinch’. These have been very fascinating films to check out and with varying measures. Quick Movie Review – ‘Wonka’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve seen the latest musical fantasy film called ‘Wonka’ at the cinema. This happens to be an origin story for Willy Wonka, a character in the 1964 book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. It’s also a prequel to the 1971 film ‘Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory’ with Gene Wilder. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Day of the Doctor’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

The time has come for ‘The Day of the Doctor’ by Steven Moffat – the 50th anniversary special of ‘Doctor Who’. This was shown on BBC TV on the 23rd of November 2013. It stars Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Jenna Coleman as Clara Oswald, Billie Piper as the Moment and John Hurt as the War Doctor. There are special guest stars like Jemma Redgrave as Kate Stewart, Ingrid Oliver as Osgood and Joanna Page as Queen Elizabeth I. The story also features the Daleks as well as the return of the Zygons, who previously appeared in their first TV story ‘Terror of the Zygons’. There are surprise guest cameos of Doctors and companions that a keen ‘Doctor Who’ fan would need to look out for. 😀 This is a ‘Doctor Who’ anniversary special that’s highly rated by the fans. Do I agree with that? Do I think that this is a better anniversary special than ‘The Five Doctors’, the 20th anniversary special? Does it cover everything that I want to celebrate about 50 years of my favourite TV show? Are there things that I like about ‘The Day of the Doctor’? 😀 ‘The Day of the Doctor’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Continue reading

‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Marathon – ‘The Eleventh Hour’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And welcome to the Steven Moffat reign of ‘Doctor Who’ where we begin the Matt Smith/Eleventh Doctor era. Both the Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi eras of ‘Doctor Who’ are a mixed bag for me, but more will be unveiled as we go through each era. Today, we’re starting off with the first episode of Series 5 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series, which is Matt Smith’s first season as the Eleventh Doctor. It’s time for ‘The Eleventh Hour’ by Steven Moffat, where Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor crash-lands to Earth and he meets Caitlin Blackwood as Amelia Pond, who soon grows up to become Karen Gillan as Amy Pond, the Doctor’s new companion. This episode also introduces us to Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams, Amy’s boyfriend. Can the Eleventh Doctor work out the mystery of Prisoner Zero whilst recovering from his regeneration and identifying who he is, and will he win Amy Pond over before she becomes his new companion? ‘The Eleventh Hour’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Quick Movie Review – ‘The Favourite’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Oh dear! ‘The Favourite’. This was a film that I had in mind to see on the big screen after hearing glowing things said about it in 2019. In the end, I saw it on Disney+ in 2021. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay much to see this film because…oh my! This ended up being such a huge disappointment for me. Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ (2017)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve seen the 2017 film adaptation of ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ by Agatha Christie! And it was very good! I found myself enjoying this film. It felt like a traditional murder mystery without the need to add sensational moments; gory violence and sex scenes that I’ve seen in other adaptations. Continue reading
