Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’m sharing the fourth of The Doctors pages in ‘Doctor Who by Tim Bradley’ today, which is ‘The Fourth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ page. This contains links to the ‘Doctor Who’ fan-fiction stories by me featuring the Fourth Doctor, as played by Tom Baker in the classic TV series. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the two-part season finale of Series 5 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series called ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’ by Steven Moffat. In this two-part adventure, Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond receive a message. They journey back in time to Roman Britain where they reunite with Alex Kingston as River Song. The trio soon ride off on horses to Stonehenge. There, they go underground to find a box-like structure called the Pandorica, which has been waiting for the Doctor. This story features a number of returning characters who have appeared in Series 5, including the return of Arthur Darvill as Rory Williams, who has managed to survive and cheat death following ‘Cold Blood’. This adventure also features the Pandorica Alliance of ‘Doctor Who’ monsters, including Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Judoon, Silurians, etc. ‘The Pandorica Opens’/’The Big Bang’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the last set of ‘Doctor Who’ stories featuring David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, which are the 2008 to 2010 Specials in the new TV series. Today, we’re starting off on ‘The Next Doctor’, the 2008 Christmas Special by Russell T. Davies. This is a ‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special that features the return of the Cybermen, who were last seen in ‘Doomsday’, and the story is set in Victorian London in the year 1851. There’s the introduction of David Morrisey (I’ve seen him in 1998’s BBC TV production of ‘Our Mutual Friend’) who claims to be a new incarnation of the Doctor. There are also special guest stars like Dervla Kirwan as the villainous Miss Hartigan and Velile Tshabalala as Rosita, the David Morrisey Doctor’s companion. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

And here we are on the two-part finale in Series 2 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ TV series – David Tennant’s first season as the Tenth Doctor. This ‘Doctor Who’ story called ‘Army of Ghosts’/’Doomsday’ by Russell T. Davies features the last regular appearance of Billie Piper as Rose Tyler, along with Camille Coduri as Jackie, Rose’s mum; Noel Clarke as Mickey, Rose’s former boyfriend, and Shaun Dingwall as Pete, Rose’s dad. This ‘Doctor Who’ story is a pretty emotional season finale, and it also features the return of two popular ‘Doctor Who’ monsters battling each other, including the Cybermen and the Daleks. There’s also the introduction of the Torchwood Institute, led by Tracy-Ann Oberman as Yvonne Hartman. This ‘Doctor Who’ adventure also features Freema Agyeman, who appears way before she played Martha Jones in Series 3, as Adeola Oshodi, Martha’s cousin. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Here we are on the first two-part story in the David Tennant/Tenth Doctor era of ‘Doctor Who’, and it’s the story that features the return of the Cybermen in the new TV series. This is ‘Rise of the Cybermen’/’The Age of Steel’ by Tom MacRae, and it’s a pretty compelling story where I got introduced to the Cybermen in 2006 and found them terrifying on my first watch. 😀 In the story, David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor, Billie Piper as Rose and Noel Clarke as Mickey end up in a parallel universe. There are parallel universe versions of Rose’s parents – Camille Coduri as Jackie, Rose’s mum and Shaun Dingwall as Pete, Rose’s dad. There’s also Roger Lloyd-Pack as John Lumic – the head of Cybus Industries and the creator of the new Cybermen on parallel Earth. 😮 ‘Rise of the Cybermen’/’The Age of Steel’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and BBC iPlayer. Does this count as a proper ‘Doctor Who’ story? 😐 I don’t know, but I’m going to include it in my 60th Anniversary Marathon anyway. It’s time for ‘Dimensions In Time’, the 30th anniversary story that was released on Children In Need night back in November 1993. It’s a two-part adventure by John Nathan-Turner and David Roden, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor, Sophie Aldred as Ace, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Deborah Watling as Victoria, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Caroline John as Liz, Richard Franklin as Mike Yates, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane, Louise Jameson as Leela, K-9, voiced by John Leeson, Lalla Ward as Romana, Sarah Sutton as Nyssa, Nicola Bryant as Peri and Bonnie Langford as Mel. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

Whilst ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ is one of the stories of the 25th anniversary season of ‘Doctor Who’ – Season 25 – it’s not the actual anniversary story to celebrate 25 years of the show. It’s actually ‘Silver Nemesis’, a three-part adventure by Kevin Clarke, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred as Ace. The TARDIS duo find themselves up against Neo-Nazis, Lady Peniforte and Cybermen, when on a quest to search for a living metal statue called Nemesis. Is this a worthy anniversary story to celebrate 25 years of ‘Doctor Who’, or do I think ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ is better? ‘Silver Nemesis’ can be checked out on DVD and Britbox. Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

It’s time for us to begin the first full season of Colin Baker’s era of ‘Doctor Who’. This is Season 22, a ‘Doctor Who’ season featuring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as Peri. The first story of the season is called ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ by ‘Paula Moore’, featuring…you guessed it…the Cybermen. 😀 This also happens to be the first two-part story in the classic ‘Doctor Who’ series where the episodes are 45 minutes each. Maurice Colbourne also returns to play Lytton from ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ and Davros actor Terry Molloy makes an appearance as Russell. ‘Attack of the Cybermen’ can be checked out on DVD, Blu-ray and Britbox. It’s time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘Doctor Who’, as we take a look at the 20th anniversary special called ‘The Five Doctors’ by Terrance Dicks. ‘The Five Doctors’ stars Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, William Hartnell and Richard Hurndall as the First Doctor, Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor, and Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor. There’s also Janet Fielding as Tegan, Mark Strickson as Turlough, Carole Ann Ford as Susan, Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, Lalla Ward as Romana and more. I highly recommend watching the 101-minute Special Edition version of ‘The Five Doctors’, as that has more scenes and CGI effects in it. You can check out the Special Edition version on Disc 2 of the 25th Anniversary 2-disc DVD edition of ‘The Five Doctors’.
