Movie Review – ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ (1954)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My knowledge of Jules Vernes as a novelist is rather limited. I’ve only heard a few mentions and references to his books in films like ‘Back to the Future, Part III’ and I have seen a film adaptation of ‘Journey to the Centre of the Earth’ with Brendan Fraser. But I haven’t read any of Verne’s books. 😐 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

We’ve had many film and TV adaptations of ‘Robin Hood’. There’s the 1991 film ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’, a 2010 ‘Robin Hood’ film starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, Captain Picard from ‘Star Trek: TNG’ was Robin Hood in ‘Qpid’ and ‘Doctor Who’ had its episode ‘Robot of Sherwood’. 😀 Continue reading

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

In the past few days, I’ve been checking out two film adaptations of ‘The Secret Garden’, based on the 1911 book by Frances Hodges Burnett. They were the 1993 film adaptation and the 2020 film adaptation. Last year, I did a trailer review featuring predictions for the recent 2020 film adaptation. Continue reading

DVD Review – ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I’ve created a new Musicals page on ‘Bradley’s Basement’! I’ve also done a review on the 1938 film ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’. The film is based on the musical number by Irving Berlin, who provides the songs, the score and the story here. I enjoyed watching ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’ during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 – please keep safe. Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Swiss Family Robinson’ (1960)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ and I’m Tim Bradley!

Last Friday, my parents and I checked out the 1960 classic Disney film called ‘Swiss Family Robinson’! I have seen this film before as it was shown to me and my class when I was at primary school in the 1990s. I enjoyed the film as a kid. It was nice to revisit the film on Disney+ with me as a grown-up. 🙂 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Candleshoe’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

My parents and I checked out another movie on Disney+ last Friday. This happened to be ‘Candleshoe’, a 1977 family film starring Jodie Foster, David Niven, Helen Hayes and Leo McKern. Apparently the movie was a based upon a book by Michael Innes called ‘Christmas at Candleshoe’. 😐 Continue reading

Quick Movie Review – ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ (Ultimate Edition)

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

At last! I’ve seen the ‘ultimate edition’ of ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ on Google Play! It’s been a while since I last saw ‘Batman v Superman’ at the cinema in 2016. With the upcoming release of Zack Synder’s extended cut of ‘Justice League’, I decided to check out his extended cut of ‘BvS’. 😀 Continue reading

Movie Review – ‘Because of Winn-Dixie’

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog and I’m Tim Bradley!

I saw this movie on Disney+, except it’s not a Disney-released movie. The film was originally released by 20th Century Fox in 2005. This is intriguing as this could easily have been a Disney movie. It has the ingredients in it, kids; a dog and a warm-hearted story. I’m surprised I didn’t see this at cinemas. Continue reading

I’ve recently seen the ‘Empire of Dreams: The Story of the ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy’ making-of documentary on the ‘Star Wars Trilogy’ Bonus Material DVD. This is also available to watch on Disney+. I watched this after watching all eleven ‘Star Wars’ films on DVD recently. It was fun to watch! Continue reading
