HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY TO ‘BRADLEY’S BASEMENT’!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! 🙂

Welcome to ‘Bradley’s Basement’ blog…

…AND IT’S THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my goodness! 10 years ago, I started ‘Bradley’s Basement’ with my ‘Hello and Welcome’ blog post on the 30th of September 2015. It’s amazing how much time has flown by and I’ve done so much with my blog since doing that initial greetings blog post. 🙂

‘Bradley’s Basement’ began life as a dream. A dream to create my own website where I shared my interests in movies and TV shows, particularly with ‘Doctor Who’. There was a time when I did think about creating my own ‘Nyssa Challenge’ website around 2010.

That was when I was studying at Cardiff University at the time and I was experimenting with web design. But then, in 2015, when I was on the Big Finish forum, I created my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines, and that was when the seed of my doing my own website began to form.

I’d like to give special thanks to Tony Jones, who ran his ‘Red Rocket Rising’ blog and has written some Big Finish audios of ‘Doctor Who’ over the years, for recommending that I use WordPress to create my own website. Without him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. 🙂

It’s just as well that he recommended WordPress to me back in 2015, as the Big Finish forum closed in that year. I had to find a special place to put my ‘Doctor Who’ timelines for people to keep on checking them out and share feedback on how they could be improved upon.

As soon I started ‘Bradley’s Basement’ at the end of September 2015, the possibilities of what I could do with my own website were endless. Not just with ‘Doctor Who’ timelines, but also with writing reviews on the films and TV shows that I love, including ‘Doctor Who’.

I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to do my ‘Nyssa Challenge’ reviews on ‘Bradley’s Basement’ over the past 10 years. I’m thrilled I’ve been able to share my ‘Doctor Who’ stories on my blog, including my ‘Fifth Doctor, Nyssa and Billy’ series that I love writing.

It’s been quite a journey to do my blog, and I’m gobsmacked I’ve been able to do it for 10 years running. It’s been a dream for me to do my blog for 10 years. I did wonder whether I would be able to reach this point at all and I’m very happy I’ve achieved that landmark.

I’d like to thank everyone who has supported my blog over the past 10 years. Without those commenting on my posts and pages, including the ‘Doctor Who’ timelines, which is what many people have come for, I wouldn’t be where I am today with this amazing site.

I’m lucky to have shared so much on my blog. As well as reviews, stories and timelines, I’ve been able to share experiences of going to conventions and meet many ‘Doctor Who’ stars, e.g., Peter Davison, David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.

The biggest ‘Doctor Who’ star for me is of course Sarah Sutton, who plays Nyssa of Traken in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. Without meeting Sarah at conventions and my enthusiasm for her performances as Nyssa, I wouldn’t be where I am today with my blog.

My friendship with Sarah at conventions has fuelled my energy to do my blog, including sharing what I think of the stories she’s been in as well as the stories presented in other forms like books, short stories and comics. It’s an endeavour I’m happy to have achieved.

As well as sharing reviews on Nyssa stories in ‘Doctor Who’, I’ve enjoyed sharing reviews on Sarah’s non-‘Doctor Who’ works like ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’, ‘The Moon Stallion’, ‘TravelWise’, the ‘Dark Shadows’ story ‘The Devil Cat’, and the ‘Timeslip’ audios.

Sharing Sarah’s non-‘Doctor Who’ work has also enabled me to share other film and TV productions that aren’t ‘Doctor Who’-related, including productions based on the books by Jane Austen, Agatha Christie and Charles Dickens, which I’ve enjoyed checking out.

For the past 29 days, I’ve shared reflections on what I’ve achieved on my blog, such as ‘The Nyssa Challenge’ and ‘The Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’. I’ve also shared my favourite TV shows and movies, including ‘Fawlty Towers’, ‘Dad’s Army’ and ‘Back to the Future’.

I’ve shared how I’ve done well in reviewing novelizations on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, not just on ‘Doctor Who’ stories, but also on movies such as the original ‘Spider-Man’ film trilogy. I’ve shared about doing my videos on YouTube, including interviews with Sarah Sutton. 🙂

I’d like to say I’ve achieved everything on my blog, but I don’t think that would be accurate. I’d hoped to update my reviews on everything I’ve transferred from Amazon.co.uk days, including ‘Jeeves & Wooster’ and ‘Monarch of the Glen’, where some reviews are short.

Sadly, that hasn’t happened due to me being so busy with other projects on my blog. Whilst I’m happy I’ve shared my ‘Star Trek’ reviews on ‘The Original Series’, ‘The Next Generation’ and ‘Deep Space Nine’, I haven’t been able to review all the ‘Voyager’ episodes.

This year, I’ve made progress with updating my ‘Beast Wars: Transformers’ reviews, but I’ve got a long way to go. I also feel I need to improve my ‘Batman’ and ‘Superman’ film reviews, especially since the current reviews aren’t in-depth as I would like them to be. 😐

My endeavour to do reviews on all the ‘Power Rangers’ episodes since I started in 2017 hasn’t exactly gone according to plan. I’m hoping to make amends for that when it comes to doing a “Mayday!” blog post on Early Bank Holiday Monday in May sometime in the future.

Regardless of what I’ve achieved and not achieved on my blog, I’ve been very fortunate in being able to keep this website running for as long as possible. I’m excited about the many opportunities for where my blog can go next and what new things I can share in the future.

When writing my ‘Fifth Doctor’ stories and my ‘Short Trips’ on my blog, I’ve been lucky in having the opportunity to work with the Divergent Wordsmiths and share my stories through their anthologies. They were great times, especially in improving my writing skills.

Whilst the Divergent Wordsmiths have stopped and I’m saddened about it, I’m looking forward to what can be shared in terms of new ‘Doctor Who’ stories on my blog. My ‘Fifth Doctor’ series is coming to an end, but I hope to share some brand-new stories afterwards.

I have something in mind for the TV show’s 70th anniversary in 2033. I also have in mind to share non-‘Doctor Who’ stories, including a possible sci-fi action-packed series that I’ve been working since I was a kid. I hope to share details about it sometime in the future.

There are plenty of novelizations for me to check out, both ‘Doctor Who’ and non-‘Doctor Who’. It’ll be an ambitious undertaking to do ‘The Trial of a Time Lord’ novelizations with their unabridged audiobooks, but it’s a challenge I’m very keen to tackle when the time comes.

I hope to continue celebrating ‘Bradley’s Basement’s 10th anniversary for the rest of 2015, including in the buildup to Christmas where I plan to share a new ‘Nyssa Challenge’ mini-review season containing reviews on the recent Big Finish audio dramas.

I know I haven’t been very busy with sharing more reviews on Big Finish audios this year. This includes ‘Doctor Who’ audios as well as the ‘Star Cops’ audios and ‘Dark Season: Legacy Rising’. I hope to catch up on those audios as soon as I can find the time to hear them.

At present, I’m updating my reviews on Season 25 of classic ‘Doctor Who’ with Sylvester McCoy based on its Blu-ray box set, which I aim to share in October. I hope to do my in-depth reviews on Series 14 of the new ‘Doctor Who’ with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson soon. 🙂

After that, there’ll be reviews on ‘The Savages’ animation, Season 7 of classic ‘Doctor Who’ with Jon Pertwee, Season 13 of classic ‘Doctor Who’ with Tom Baker, and Series 15 of new ‘Doctor Who’ with Ncuti Gatwa. Such exciting things to look forward to on my blog! 🙂

In terms of conventions, I’m looking forward to seeing Sarah Sutton at ‘MegaCon Live Farnborough’ in October, Millie Gibson at ‘Film & Comic Con Cardiff’ in October, and Sarah Sutton again at ‘Happy Who Year’ in Andover in January 2026. It’s all pretty exciting!

Christmas, as always will be an exciting time to look forward to at the end of the year, especially when it comes to putting my Advent Calendar together. And of course, there’s my Easter review season to prepare for next year. Hopefully, I’ll get all this done in time. 😀

‘Bradley’s Basement’ is a website that keeps me busy and I’m very pleased to have made so much use of it over the past 10 years. I’m pleased I’ve been able to keep my readers entertained with ‘Doctor Who’ timelines, reviews, convention reports and other things. 🙂

I’d like to think I can do my blog for another 10 years where I can celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2035. But that’s an aspiration I’ll have to work on for a long while yet. At present, I’m thrilled to say I’ve achieved 10 years of my blog. I’ve shared so much on it. 🙂

Once again, thank you everyone who has supported my blog these past 10 years. I hope to keep you entertained for another 10 years. Already, I’m looking forward to what’s in store for Year Eleven of my blog in 2026, and I’m sure many of you are too in the coming year.

Stay tuned for anniversary celebrations on my blog throughout today and tomorrow! This includes a ‘Doctor Who Timelines’ blog post, a couple of special ‘Fifth Doctor by Tim Bradley’ blog posts and some quick reviews. 😀 Today and tomorrow should be exciting! 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

Tim 🙂
