It’s time to round off our look into the Target novelizations/audiobooks of the 60th anniversary TV specials of ‘Doctor Who’ by checking out the third instalment called ‘The Giggle’, featuring the Fourteenth Doctor, Donna Noble, Melanie Bush, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, U.N.I.T., the Toymaker and of course the introduction of the Fifteenth Doctor. The novelization is by James Goss, based on the TV script by Russell T. Davies, and the audiobook is read by Dan Starkey, well-known for playing the Sontarans in the TV series and the Big Finish audios. Continue reading

It’s been a while since I’ve done a brand-new in-depth review on ‘Bradley’s Basement’, hasn’t it? 😀 Recently, my parents and I commemorated my late sister Bethan with revisiting the original 1937 ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ film (I’ve seen the teaser trailer for the upcoming 2025 film ‘Snow White’) and 1989’s ‘The Little Mermaid’. For Bethan’s birthday today, I decided to revisit the 2023 live-action version of ‘The Little Mermaid’ on Disney+ and share an in-depth review of it, following my quick review of the film last year when I saw it at the cinema. Today, I’m sharing my updated review on the ‘Doctor Who’ story ‘The Underwater Menace’. This updated review is based on the latest in a line of mostly missing black-and-white ‘Doctor Who’ TV stories from the 1960s that have been animated on DVD and Blu-ray for today. The story stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor, Anneke Wills as Polly Wright, Michael Craze as Ben Jackson and Frazer Hines as Jamie McCrimmon. This story also features Joseph Fürst as the titular ‘underwater menace’ – Professor Zaroff. Continue reading
